This hotel was 5 Stars plus! Room was exquisite. Multiple staff in lobby were friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful. Restaurant was fabulous with food and service beyond reproach. Beautiful facility. Original Catholic Chapel on site that is well maintained and used on special occasions.

Room Tip: Ask for 2nd floor, room type "4"category.

Hotel Monasterio is perfectly located close to the square. From the moment you walk into it's door, you're surround by beautiful old world decor. The details of the doors, ceilings and arches are amazing throughout the hotel. The hotel lobby bar was filled with wonderful music and the wait staff was very attentive refilling our glasses. The grounds of the courtyard with the 300 year old cedar is beautiful, and don't forget to visit the Chapel. The bed was super comfy I had no problems getting to sleep besides the altitude (just don't have a pillow fight, it wears you out!). I love the fact that they used real keys instead of keycards! Service was excellent, especially at breakfast, which was wonderful both days. The stay at Hotel Monasterio was perfect for our visit in Cuzco.

The hotel was beautiful and very well maintained, located in the heart of Cusco just a block from the Plaza de Armas. The hotel used to be a Monasterio and most of its hallways and rooms were decorated with traditional Cusco art, keeping the feeling it had before. It is actually an architectural treasure, which combines colonial style and modern features proper of a 5-Star Hotel. The hotel had a special system for supplying more oxygen into the room, which helps you with the altitude sickness! Rooms were very comfortable and elegant. They featured king size beds, private bathrooms, cable TV, heat, minibar, telephone with direct dialing in room and bathroom, smoke detectors, and hair dryer. Restaurant is rated as one of the best in Cusco and breakfast is excellent, and the setting is amazing, a colonial courtyard under the Cusco’s blue sky. It offers amazing service and great concierge. The bar in the lobby offers excellent cocktails, especially the traditional Pisco Sour, which is worth a try (at least a few)! All the staff was extremely friendly, very professional and detail-oriented. The Hotel also organizes several activities, like cooking classes, art tour and tandem paragliding sessions. I recommend this hotel to anyone.

Beautiful, comfortable, quiet, cozy, amazing, relaxing, pampered, and unique. I love this hotel! Walk to everything - shops, restaurants, & main square. We did Machu Picchu hike and stayed at Monasterio for two nights after to relax and boy did we. We loved hanging out in the gorgeous lobby bar listening to live music and munching on the unpopped corn kernels and crispy thin potato chips. Ate dinner in the bar one night because we were so comfortable we didn't want to leave! Our room was perfect. VERY comfortable bed, huge thick glorious bath towels, hair dryers...yes 2 just in case one wasn't strong enough for drying your hair (what hotel ever does that?) And don't get me started on the free breakfast. Eggs, french toast, pancakes cooked to order. A never ending display of fresh pastries (scones, croissants, baguettes, breads, palmiers, etc etc etc. A plethora of fresh fruit and juices, cereals, potatoes, vegetables, sausages, bacon. I could go on and on. Live music (guitarist) while you eat breakfast. Expensive yes, but they deliver absolute value.
Hotel Monasterio is something special!!!!!

Lovely hotel in a great location. Excellent breakfast in a delightful setting. Wonderful hotel bar. This is an old monastery and is a delightful atmosphere for a hotel. The service was excellent. Wished we had more time there.
