I came to this site in two occations - first with the city tour, which was super interesting due to a great guide that had a lot of information about the place, and second time for the Inti Raymi event which was absolutly beatiful. Also the place itself is one of the most beautiful ruins sites that I´ve seen around Cusco. Worth a visit.

This is part of a number of monuments just outside Cusco. I took a taxi and spent a couple of hours strolling around the site.
As well as lots of architecture, there is a fantastic view of Cusco city.

This site, just up the mountain from Cusco, is the center of many celebrations of ancient culture. The structure celebrates the figures of the Condor, the Puma, and the Snake, which symbolized the three spiritual levels of the Quechua people in the times of the Inca. I was amazed at the size of the boulders and the skills and technology used in shaping both the stones and the structure on the side of this hill. During the festival of the sun, a special event is televised at this location. Worth the trip!

One of the most impressing stonework of the whole trip. These stones were so large, perfectly fitted together. We saw this on a guided city tour. I wish we could have spent more time here and wandered around more.

We walked from the Plaza to the top; took 2.5 hours (large group of people) and hired a guide once there. The "cave" near the end of the tour is fun and easily missed if you visit the site without a guide. Would recommend taking a taxi up; you can walk down easily and save yourself a lot of time spent climbing steep streets and steps.
