We stayed in twelve different hotels in Peru. This had more character than most!
The rooms are basic, but we found them very comfortable for a night.
The food in the cafe was really good and freshly prepared. We had both an evening meal and breakfast the following morning (not included), and then chose to come back for lunch a few days later when we came back into Cusco for a day.
Location was good - it's about seven minutes to walk to the Plaza del Armas (nearest cash machine)
That all profits go to a charitable foundation to help disadvantaged children is the icing on the cake.

I stayed in the Ninos Hotel in September 2012 for two nights and enjoyed it immensely. Everything was very clean and neat and the food was amazing, the hostel staff were very helpful and accommodating and spoke English very well. The only complaint I have is that the rooms were very small for a 6 foot 3 man, but otherwise, a great stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the main floor have larger doors (the doors on the upper floor are quite small if you'r...

I loved staying here, and will definitely recommend it to all! Proceeds from the hotel go towards looking after local children, but it is also a great hotel too! The architecture is quaint, the service is pretty good, and the food was just lovely. I found it to be a great place to relax before and after my trek. Next time, I'll stay here again :)

Room Tip: Despite what others say, I liked the upstairs rooms facing the street, as they have big shutter wind...

This hotel is very quaint and beautiful. Nice courtyard, super cute rooms, good wifi, with an easy walk to the plaza de armas. The restaurant was very good and very romantic with the wood burning stove. If you stay here, you should definitely go and visit the child aid project. They give free tours every day at 4:30 to show you how the ninos project began. I highly recommend this. The only downfall is the very cute courtyard can be very noisy in the morning. If you don't mind being woken up early, then without a doubt, stay here. If you want to sleep in, go elsewhere.

I stayed at this hotel twice, in different rooms. It is clean and in a great part of town. There were a few minor inconveniences, however, including lack of hot water, electrical outlets (in both rooms) that didn't work (which means the space heater didn't work either), and the lack of an included breakfast.

We stayed here at both ends of our recent trip to Macchu Pichu....the hotel is in a quiet street and about 5 mins walk from the main Plaza in Cusco. Freindly and helpful staff and a nice restaurant of sorts made for a pleasant stay. The rooms are interesting, all different layouts but the beds were comfortable and a heater is supplied with each room if needed. Free wifi is also available but its weak at the far end of the courtyard. Overall a nice place to stay

I stayed at at Los Ninos on El Fierro for 8 days total (2 when I first arrived and then 6 after 3 days in Ollaytantambo). I am recovering from a back injury and needed a comfortable place that I could use as a base to do a lot of walking each day. I am a social worker, so the fact that profits go to help needy children was also attractive. The hotel is fantastic---rooms are spotless and welcoming, the patio is a great place to meet other travelers, and the restaurant has very good food. Do go on the 4:30 mini-tour one day when you are there to see the terrific program you sponsor by staying there. You are also likely to see the healthy, happy children as they visit for their meals, use of the gym, school help, etc. The staff are all warm and friendly. You are up a not too steep hill from the local San Pedro Market, and about 15 minutes walk from Plaza D'Armas--perfect location. I heartily recommend this hotel, and will stay there again when I return to Peru.

Room Tip: I loved the balcony in the area where the children's program is. Do try for a room with windows...
