We had chosen to visit Koricancha as our first big site in Cusco. We hadn´t really read too much information on it so we decided to get a guide (you chose one out the front- we paid S./30 i think). 100% worth it! There is not really any signs or descriptions about the building and original walls, and unless you had read information on it previously- it would seem rather dull. For us, we wanted to learn about the Inca beliefs before going to Machu Pichu and this was a good way to start.
The tour was mostly on the bottom floor. The top floor is a art muesum now and we didn´t go up there although it is included in the entrance ticket. Unfortunately you cant visit the whole building as it is still being used as a convent in one section.
I would highly recommend visiting the Koricancha as one of the more important sites in Cusco!
