“Great central place to stay in Cusco when preparing for your Inca trail trek”
Reviewed 3 January 2013 via mobile

After arriving late from Buenos Aires due to a delayed flight, these guys we're more than happy to pick is up from the airport for the short drive into town and then upgraded us to the honeymoon suite on our arrival - which was a gorgeous old room and a real delight to stay for a few nights in readiness for our Inca Trail trek with SAS, who also own the hotel and are based next door. The central location of the hotel was perfect for sorting out last minute supplies for the trek in town and finalising everything for the trek. They also stored our extra luggage for the duration of the trek and we're always helpful and very polite. Highly recommend staying here prior to your trek

Stayed in the hotel for 4nights as recommended by SAS Travel as I has used them for them for Inca trail. Very convenient as the travel office was next door and we could clarify all koind s of questions before out trek.

The hotel was OK, very quaint and pretty. The room was good and clean but lack of windows gave a cramped feeling. On the other hand the location close to the main square and rest. made it easy to go back and forth multiple times. Good hotel to get used to the Cusco altitude!

A very average blah place to say. The photos make it look waaaaay better than the reality. The is a huge difference between quant and poor quality. This place is renovated to a sub-standard quality and they provide a very poor breakfast compared to the other 3 star standards in Peru. Rooms are noisy, as steps resonate through the building. Very blah. Good location though.

Room Tip: Better to get a room upstairs otherwise you can hear people above you walking around.

We stayed here for 4 days over the Christmas period, loved it
The position of the hotel means it is accessible to all downtown sites & restaurants.
Our room was a superior but overlooked the street, noisy but the shutters did cut out a lot of the noise.
The staff were very helpful & attentive to our needs
They have o2 tank if required
Breakfast was good
We would stay here again

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back portion of the hotel

I stayed 6 nights at this small hotel off San Francisco Square in downtown Cusco. It was charming with large courtyards in historic colonial style. The location was perfect for walking around the city. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The included breakfast was hearty and well presented. Eggs cooked to order. The pick up and return service from the airport was on time. If ever back in Cusco it will be my "home" again.

Room Tip: Think that rooms in the back are quieter.

Stayed at the Hotel Marqueses during a recent trip to Cusco, and was very impressed by their accommodations and overall service. Was greeted upon arrival with tea while I checked in, and the room was smaller but perfect for my brief stay in the area.

The hotel provides shuttle pickup from the airport, as well as a connection to SAS Travel should you need to arrange booking to Machu Picchu or other local sites. I prebooked my stay before arrival would recommend doing that to make sure that rooms are available.

Front desk staff was always ready and attentive, and liquid refreshments were always available. Internet is only available in the main courtyard area, but that wasn't too much of a detraction.

I would definitely stay here again on my next visit - try them out!

They offer free transfers to and from the airport and provide discounts if you pay USD versus with credit card. I suffered altitude sickenss and they always had coco leaf tea and coco leaves availible to help (seriously use them- they truely help). The location of the hotel is within 2 blocks of shopping, food, pharmacy- if you need altitude pills). The rooms come with TV, refrig, hairdryer, soap, shampoo. The breakfast is included and starts at 5am. Its bread, cheese, meat fruit and made to order eggs. They are also located next to SAS travel. if you do use SAS travel for machu pichu and plan to spend a night in Aqua Calientes (I dont recommend their hostel, it is geared for backpackers accomodations and the walls are paper thin, ie I could hear everything being done/said in all room!!!!!! Upgrade to a better hotel). I would recommend Hotel Marquese though.

Room Tip: bring eyemask the window above my door let in light and I need total darkness
