“Charming!”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

The hostal was very nice and helpful. The rooms were charming and spacious. The only problem was all the stairs to get to the hostal. After a long day out touring that was the last thing I wanted to do was climb those stairs but other than that I wold definitely recommend this Hostal.

Room Tip: We stayed downstairs and the rooms were very nice but..... you could hear all the creaks from upstai...

My friends and I stayed in the quad room. The room was nice and cozy and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was yummy!!! The hostel is in a great location - very central. The price was more than fair. And - the hot water was long lasting! (which was nice because there were 4 of us!)

Our party of four stayed here for ten days and couldn't have been more satisfied. Staff were helpful and attentive, breakfast was good and served promptly, showers were hot, beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. They stored our bags for the two days we went to Machu Picchu. The 45 steps can be daunting at altitude but otherwise a perfect respite in a busy city.

Room Tip: Upstairs corner room with sitting area and neighboring room are great for a small group. Bright and...

Loved this little hotel! Its worth the hike up the steps!! Convenient to Plaza de Armas and San Blas. They have a very friendly and attentive staff that speak English. The rooms are very clean and have fluffy down comforters and heaters. Hot, powerful shower (perfect post-Inca trail!). Adorable little breakfast room, eggs and bread every morning. Hot tea and plenty of coca leaves to combat the altitude sickness.

This hostel is well situated, close to Plaza de Armas in the center of activities of Cusco. Its not on a street but up along a staircase between two streets. Room are adequate. The common areas can get quite cold at night and early in the morning as they do not appeared to be heated. Room have a heater which makes them comfortable. Bed are more or less single bed. There are nice fireplace in the rooms which appeared to be functional but not sure as we did not use it. Breakfast consist of fried eggs and scramble eggs plus bread. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Select a room that is far from the breakfast room id you want to sleep in the morning.

We stayed in this hotel for over a week when we lost our Visa and had to wait until a new one arrived. After some of the hotels we stayed in through South America we were happy to wait in such a friendly, comfortable place. The staff are all very friendly and speak excellent English. The breakfasts were good, the rooms clean and quiet, and the location not far from the main plaza of Cusco. We did a 5 day trek to Machu Picchu and the staff quite happily stored our luggage. The only negative points were that the internet was not very strong and we had to sit outside the room for it to be reliable. Also, the floors are quite squeaky so the rooms can be noisy when people are walking above.

Room Tip: Try and avoid the room under the breakfast room - it is quite noisy in the morning with everyone wal...

A travelling group of 8 we were, all of us from different upbringings, etc different outlooks on life and expectations. However, during our 5 weeks of travelling, ALL of us agree on one thing. this place was by far the best place we have stayed. Granted there are a few steps to get up, and being in high altitude (and possibly slightly unfit to boot) makes it a slow process.. however, we would still all go back in a heart beat to this place. I couldn't imagine staying in any other place. it was quaint, authentic and comfortable. Had a wonderful view in the morning at breakfast and it was quiet. we were treated like family, the girls behind the counter (and the boys running up and down the stairs with our bags) could not have been more helpful. had left my mobile phone in the bus that dropped us off, within an hour the girls had tracked it down and had it delivered to me in my room! They helped out with everything possible, Our laundry was done for next to nothing in cost. During our stay (unbeknownst to us) there were protests going on in Lima airport, whilst we were out exploring the city, the girls in the hotel had kept up to date on the flight info and organised a driver to pick us up earlier than planned to ensure we didn't miss any connecting flights. We were always greeted with smiles and it really was a fantastic stay. Close to a few restaurants and a 10 min walk into the main square. they are strict on check out time, but that is because they would be constantly booked because it really is a cute little place with loads of character and felt so homely. even though check out was 8am, they held our bags until we were picked up. They also held ALL our bags overnight for no charge when we stayed up in Machu Picchu at another hotel and when we returned to check back in again, all our suitcases had been put back into our rooms ready for us!. Can not speak more highly of our stay. We will all remember the great time we had there. Plan to go again!!
