“Best place we stayed on our trip”
Reviewed 31 October 2012

I traveled with a group of 4 other people. We all agreed that Plaza de Armas hotel set the bar high for the rest of our stay in Peru. It is perfectly located right in the center. I would recommend bringing earplugs though because the great location comes at a cost noise wise and it was pretty loud outside with beeping, whistling, music, and cannons going off (yes, cannons...every morning). That is the only negative thing I can say though. The rooms were clean and attractive. The bed I shared with my husband was huge and very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure and no "too hot, too cold" issues. It has a great rooftop that we all sat out on at night for drinks. We were also on the 4th floor which has a separate sitting/bar area that we were able to sit in at night and talk and relax. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They were able to call and set up a van/cab for us to take for the day to visit various sites we wanted to see in the Sacred Valley. I would recommend this hotel to any friends or family I had visiting Cusco.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with friends I would recommend the 4th floor to have a nice sitting area. Also...

Apart from being in the best location for Cusco - which is right in the main square, the rooms are wonderful. I am sleeping in the most comfy king size bed and step out in the morning onto heated floor boards! The shower is fabulous and the whole bathroom is really nice and modern. There is also plenty of cupboard space
It has a good buffet breakfast and it has a bar and resturaunt as well. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel has a superb location. Right on the Plaza de Armas, the hotel is across from the Cathedral and within walking distance of other main Inca and colonial sites, as well as other plazas, the local central market, and restaurants. The hotel restaurant has a beautiful colonial balcony where I sat to have coffee and watch the Plaza de Armas, with all of its activity. I discovered that the hotel has also a roof-top terrace that overlooks most of downtown, and several churches. The room was very clean and elegant, with a wonderfully hot shower. The room was reasonably quiet considering the hotel's location; it was almost sound proof. The staff was very friendly and professional. The overall atmosphere and service was excellent for the price. I strongly recommend it!

I thought for peruvian standards the rooms were very clean and good value for the price. One of our last stops was Cuzco of our two weeks trip in Peru. Very good location, the staff was friendly and very helpful. We stayed there two nights and had recharging sleeps there. our window looked at the main square of the city but the room was not noisy at all. Highly recommended.

This hotel is located right on the plaza in Cuscos. This over-rides a mutlitude of sins. Room feels dingy even though it's reasonably clean. Has good wifi. The bathroom is old and toilet does not flust well. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is okay with a few breads, fruits, and eggs with ham, upon request. I found it to be reasonably quiet at bedtime, but noise carried from my neighbors earlier in the evening. Free coca tea!

It wasn't fancy, but we weren't expecting that. You don't stay in your room except to sleep! We had no trouble with noise and the shower was hot. Everything was clean and the service was great. We could walk most places we wanted to go, shopping close, large market just up the hill within walking distance. It was great being able to look out our window and see 2 large streets going in different directions. One morning we saw a military parade on one street and in the evening we saw an Indian protest parade just by standing at our window. The night we came back from Machupicchu there was a huge crowd in front of the cathedral so we were able to just walk across and see all the lovely young girls and boys in native dress doing ceremonial dances.
