Well......if you enjoy old wooden below standard buildings with no heat and paper thin walls and light shining in your room this is it! I am Canadian and we froze! 5 degrees C outside and no heaters. Sorry... can't recommend this one!

- we were happy to have booked this hostel twice (arriving from Lima and returning from the Inca Trail) as they kept our lugagges in storage

- computer and internet in the lobby

- decent breakfast, classic of what you'll see everywhere else in Peruvian hotels (skicky white cheese, round pita buns, sweet red jam, quare pink ham slices, mango juice)

- very friendly staff, some do not speak much english

- booked taxis for us, good service

- within 15-20 minutes or so from the main plaza (maybe more) but noce littel walk, nce area

- there's a laundry service in the alley but they cliose early. Had to go on the plaza to get laundry done.

- nearby the farmers' market where you can buy a few things to eat

- the rooms are cold and we were happy to have our sleeping bag as extra blankets

- nice little room, all we needed.

We just checked in early today..this place is GREAT! Clean and friendly staff. exceeds our expectations. Great location close to restaurants, shops everything. Room is small, but..so is the price .. that is what we look for. $40.00 USD per nite 2 persons

For what it´s worth... we also encountered a wonderful woman (vendor) in the airport parking lot.
"Silvia" she helped us with a Taxi and misc. info. Last vendor on the left when you exit airport and see them in the lot.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 202

Spent one night here after a 4 day inca trail hike and can honestly say it was great value for money.

The furnishings are a little dated, but the bed was super comfortable and packed with warm blankets. The shower was powerful with plenty of roasting hot water, just what was needed after hiking and camping without basic comforts for a few days.

Breakfast was fine- a buffet of fresh bread rolls, ham, cheese, juice, honeyed sugar puff cereal, bananas with good coffee and a selection of teas.

Los Aticos is located down a wide, well- lit alley off calle quera and about 4-5 blocks from the main square in Cusco. It seems safe enough but feels a little quiet and isolated at night.

Wifi is free and pretty fast. My stay also included a free airport shuttle which was really handy and saved me a few soles.

I would like to offer a fair review. If you are looking for a luxury retreat this is not for you. If you are looking for confort and excellent service, be aware you paid what you get for. Nothing wrong with roughing it a bit. I think this is a great choice if you are backpacking in a low budget. Breakfast is simple, great location, staff is nice. However, if the price is low compared to other hotels, there is a reason. If confort is what you are looking for, please consider another hotel. But if you want the adventure this could be it. Enjoy your travels around Cusco!

Room Tip: If it is cold, ask for a heater "Calentador".

I only stayed one night but it was very warm and accomodating. The workers there were very helpful and went out of their way to help. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I never felt it was a hostel. The breakfast was pretty good.

I would highly recommend staying at the Los Aticos Hostel if you visit Cusco. The hostel is located very close to the main Plaza de Armas and is within walking distance to most of the sights in the city. The rooms are clean and have a "cabin" feel. With the raining coming down it felt like we were camping. Our room was two floors, with the beds upstairs and a living area/kitchen/bathroom downstairs. It was a little chilly upstairs, but they provide space heaters which warmed the room up a bit (but you do need to give them some time to heat up). There is also complimentary breakfast, a laundry machine for guest use, fast WiFi, and they do sell oxygen tanks at the front desk.
