A family with 2 small children we had specifically booked 2 adjacent rooms and confirmed those upon arriving at the reception, When led to our rooms these were on opposite ends of the aisle and it took quite some arguing before we managed to get adjacent rooms. Finally, the lobby, rooms, toilets, carpets and the establishment needs and overall overhaul.

This hotel has a great location, near the main square in Cusco. As soon as we arrived, the staff brought us cups of coca tea and got us checked in quickly. Breakfast is included and it starts early enough that you can get breakfast before some of the tours that leave in the early morning. There is also free internet (but it is slow so that could be improved). Rooms were comfortable, clean, and very nice. We really enjoyed our stay there because it made it easy in the evenings to walk to some great restaurants that are right in the vicinity. Also the staff speak good english and we never had a problem communicating or getting the information we needed. Would definitely stay there again.

The location is excellent , in the centre of town.It is spotlessly clean .The staff were very helpful and friendly. The brekfast was typical for the region with plenty to eat and variety, The rooms are basic but have ample room, compfortable beds .
we would stay at this hotel again without hesitation.

This is an awesome hotel. Beware that there are four "Casa Andinas" in Cusco. This one is on the less expensive side and is is just off the main plaza. We walked to all of the in-town sights that we wanted to see. Some rooms have a lip (short step) on the floor leading into the room or the bathroom. These didn't cause us a problem, but they might for some (especially if you forget to lwatch for them). Breakfast was a full buffet, in a skylit dining room with a of the city view out a row of big windows. Best of all was the personal service. The desk staff was expecting us (personally), took care of any requests (laundry, taxi, bag storage, etc.) and even had our bags already moved from storage to our rooms when we returned after a few days out in the country.

Room Tip: If you need a floor with no steps (into the room or the bathroom) you will probably need to ask for...

It is unfortunate that we arrived at this hotel after staying at 5 star establishments. Even so we think the hotel could be improved significantly. On the plus side are the location close to the main square, the friendly staff, a comfortable bed, strong and reliable wifi and an excellent shower. However it was let down by a rather dingy room with dark green and brown decor, a mediocre breakfast, basic toiletries and a general lack of cleanliness. (Our bedclothes were not changed in the 4 nights we stayed). Our room was spacious enough with a separate sitting area but there was no window in the bedroom and the windows in the bathroom and sitting area opened onto an internal roof raising issues of security. This is also the only hotel which did not provide bottled water for brushing teeth etc. Contrary to a previous review there was a lift but it operated very slowly and we opted for the stairs. It should also be noted that there is more than one Casa Andina Classic in Cusco.

Dear guest,

Thank you for sharing your experience at our Classic Cusco Plaza hotel, we truly appreciate to know about your impressions.

We believe important to mention you that Casa Andina offers three different brands within Peru: Classic, Select and Private Collection. Our Classic brand offers basic services unlike our other Brands, which are more luxurious.

However, we are glad that you found the location convenient as well as our staff members were attentive to you during your stay.

We hope that you can visit our Private Collection hotels, we are sure that they will meet your expectations.

Best regards,

The Casa Andina Team

Stayed in this hotel recently for a trip before and after a hike to Macchu Pichu (late April). The staff was truly excellent and responsive, with excellent English. They helped with directions, getting a taxi, plug adapters etc. Also seemed aware of tour group needs and coordinated effectively with them on our behalf. The breakfast buffet was ample. Could have used bottled water in the rooms, but it was easy to buy water in the lobby and in nearby stores. The internet was pokey and unreliable. The usual plumbing issues in Peru - don't flush the paper - and in our room the toilet was sluggish even without breaking the rule. There are no elevators so be prepared to carry your luggage up and down stairs, but the staff will help if necessary.

For those who aren't aware: the elevation can be a real issue; hiking up and down the street felt quite taxing at first. But they have coca tea in the lobby and oxygen for sale if you need it. We were there for 3 days to acclimate before going on a hike; I still got sick when climbing higher. Take your time and enjoy Cuzco before moving on! I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We have a mixed feeling about this hotel.
Of course the most important things are: the bed, bathroom, space. These items are good or very good about this hotel, also the location is only 5-10 minutes walking from the centre of Cuzco. Also the personnel is very service minded.
All the rest is failing. Wifi: very, very poor performance. Cleaning was not done properly. The wooden bedroom floors making a lot of noise for/by neighbours when walking around the rooom, these is no bar, no restaurant, very poor heating (gets cold at night), house across the street looks right into the room (!), poor breakfast, no drinking water in the room.

Room Tip: Don't take room 314. The people living across the street look right into your bedroom.
