My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and recommend it VERY highly! The location is perfect - right in the middle of Cusco Plaza, with shops, restaurants within 5 minutes (or less) walking distance. We do a great deal of international travel, and have to say the staff at Casa Andina was one of the most helpful and thoughtful we have ever encountered. They smilingly called around to various restaurants to help us find just the food we were looking for; they always gave great recommendations; they were cheerful and made our stay great! The breakfast room overlooks the Cathedral and main plaza - an unbelievable view. We loved that the mate de coca tea was available 24 hours a day, and had an extremely comfortable, happy stay. We HIGHLY recommend Casa Andina (Two unexpected bonuses: free super-high-speed wireless internet in the rooms and a free shuttle ride from the airport to the hotel.) We loved our stay - MUCHAS GRACIAS, Casa Andina!

To offset a failed hotel wakeup call on the day we took the train to Machu Picchu, Evelin did everything in her power to save the situation when we returned. Almost miraculously, she moved heaven and earth to make us more than satisfied customers of this nice, friendly, clean and very centrally located, safe hotel. Evelin is a great hotel manager: sympathetic, efficient, effective, friendly, with excellent English and interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Good quality buffet breakfasts with spectacular views of churches were a plus. Rooms are spartan and small, but immaculately clean -- who spends much time in their rooms in Cusco anyway? We would stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Stayed there 3 nights for our Machu Picchu (MP) trip - Would stay there again if I ever go back to Cusco. Right in the middle of the plaza, u simply cannot get lost Our room is an end room on the floor below the restaurant, excellent view and quiet (especially coming from Lima El Condado Miraflores -see my other review). We payed $90 for a 2 queen bed room. Room is super clean, with no-frills ; very good for the value.

Cusco tip: do your shopping at Cusco - handicrafts are very good deal from the street hawkers (none in LIma Miraflores)or shops (better than Lima).

If you're a first time visitor to Cusco and traveling alone, stay here. The location is unbeatable : you're smack in the heart of Cusco, shops, restaurants (church too) just outside the hotel. The rooms are decent, though I have to say I was rather freaked out at having to walk along pitch black hotel corridors at 5 am in the morning (if you're departing for the train for Machu Picchu, this is normal). Decor is rustic but the town and its people make it worthwhile. You will have a lovely time here.

I traveled to Perú in July of 2010 with 3 more friends for 2 1/2 weeks, and we had the opportunity to stay in 4 Casa Andina hotels - in Arequipa, Puno, Valle Sagrado, and Cusco. The experience in each of them was excellent!!! The staff was always welcoming and willing to help us, giving us suggestions from what places to visit to where to go out to eat something local.
The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and spacious. Breakfast was good, and there is always coca tea available in case you get altitude sickness - which really came in handy!
The location of the hotels in Arequipa and Cusco is great! Close to the Plaza de Armas of each city, and close to shops, bars, and restaurants. The hotel in Valle Sagrado is just ridiculously AMAZING! You should just know that from your room window you can see the Andes right there, a view from all of the hotel rooms.. It's just amazing!!! Beyond words...
The four of us were more than satisfied with Casa Andina, we would recommend it to family and close friends without hesitation.
If you don't know where to stay, Casa Andina is an excellent choice. You will NOT regret it!!

My wife was the only one sick in our group and the hotel staff showed concern and took care of us better than we could have expected. Our thanks go to Aurelio for his full time care he gave my wife with oxygen and compassion. Also to Jorge and Lucy who we had excellent dealings with. The door man and all the other staff displayed equal character. The Breakfast is great and the location of this hotel make it a fantastic place to be in Cusco.
