The hotel is quite well located, about 5 mn walk from the main square. The girls at the desk are very good. I like the size of the rooms. The shower are powerful and very hot, which helps when it's really cold in the winter.
The breakfast could do with better bread.
I think it's good value for money.

This hotel is great if you just want a standard, reasonably priced place to stay whilst in Cusco. It is centrally located and gives you access to the many different activities available. If you are visiting Cusco all you need is a place to put your head down, there's so much to do it'd be a waste to sit in the hotel anyway! The hotel itself is fairly old, and usually quite chilly but has comfy beds, a tv/heater, a little outside patio which is nice when it's sunny and some of the best hot showers in South America! It is about a 5 minute walk to the square down a busy street with many shops, tour companies, bars, restaurants etc all along it. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the breakfast has a good selection for all diets (although you do have to ask for eggs!).

To Summerise:

GOOD POINTS:
-Great location for all activities, shopping, dining, drinking etc
-Hot, powerful, lovely showers (just what you need after the Inca Trail!)
-Helpful staff

BAD POINTS:
-Dated deco
-Chilly (but heaters are supplied)
-If you get a room on the road-side of the hotel, can be a little noisy.

Hope this helps :)

Room Tip: Try and get one off road side of hotel.

The room was pretty basic but a good size and clean enough. It was cold at night...offset by the beds having huge amounts of blankets on them. There was hot water in the shower some of the time and free wifi in the foyer that worked some of the time. Breakfast as quite good although there weren't a lot of choices and there wasn't a lot of it leading to some unseemly squabbling over the orange juice. Nothing fancy but OK for a few nights.

Hotel is very basic but it is about a 5 min walk to the main square.
They have hot tea in the lobby to drink.
Rooms are basic but nice. Shower is awesome (powerful and hot)
Wifi is good depending on where you are but generally I had to go to a central area in hotel to access wifi. The first time I stayed it was perfect in the room.
Heaters are additional but necessary.
Staff are nice.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with good wifi

This hotel is very clean and quiet which I liked. The location is good. It is a short walk to the main square. They only take cash and not credit cards and I was not aware of this before our stay. The rooms have space heaters which worked and made the rooms warm once you got it warmed up. The common areas of the hotel were REALLY COLD. There was a fireplace in the lobby, but they never had a fire going during our stay. The wifi worked for about half of our stay there. The safe in our room didn't work, but they did have a safe we could use at the front desk area. They didn't have hair dryers or hand towels or wash clothes. Our room had a double bed. In the future I will look for a place that at least has a queen because we don't sleep well on a double. My husband is taller than the bed. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast. There was only some bread, jam and other spreads. Sometimes there was a plate of fruit, but it was sparse and I had to ask for it on our second morning there. I took a cup of tea to my room and when they cleaned the room, they didn't take clear the cup and saucer. Some of the hotel staff spoke English, but not all. We had issues when trying to check out. We had previously agreed upon a price for our stay, but the person who was working the front desk when we were ready to check out was trying to charge a different price. At first he was trying to charge us for only one night which we knew was wrong and we explained and then he wanted to charge us more than we had previously agreed upon when we checked in. He didn't speak English and we don't speak Spanish. It was stressful and frustrating becuase we had a very early flight back to Lima. We talked with others while we were in Cusco and it seemed that others got cheaper rates for the rooms in this hotel compared to what we got and there were other places in town that were also cheaper.

Thank you very much for your review, this is always a good opportunity for us to improve.

We kindly would like to take this opportunity to tell future customers to please ask if you have any questions about our facilities. The management works pretty much 24hx7 so we are always happy to give you all the information you need and also to help you in all we can. Please be aware that Cusco cooler temperatures are due to the high altitude and traditional houses like our facilities doesn't have central heating. Also the Hotel is not a luxury one and prices are not expensive either.

We are sorry to know our dear guest Jennifer D had many problems, but we believe many of them could have been solved by talking to us. For example, the Hotel has a room with queen bed, guests can ask hair dryers, hand towels and wash clothes in Reception. Also all our rooms plus Hotel Reception, have signs asking customers to inform Reception and close their bills 24h before checking out, precisely to avoid last-minute payments and problems related with it. Again we thank you your review, thanks to it we will work on be more attentive and to be more in touch with our guests.
.
Kind regards,
The Hotel Management.
