4-Star quality hotel for economical rates! All of the service was of excellent quality from a professional courteous staff! The restaurant had the best food I had in Cusco, Peru! The rooms were very comfortable and clean in a quaint nicely located colonial architecture setting! Moeover, the high-speed internet connection was the fastest I had in Peru!
Enjoy!!-

We decided upon this hotel after all the great reviews and we were not dissapointed. Our stay was 9 nights long and although our room was changed after the first night from the third floor to the second because of maintenance, the hotel upgraded us for free for the remainder of our stay. The windows overlooking the patio/breakfast area have been double-paned and when they are closed no sound comes through whatsoever. The hotel rooms and the hotel itself were very clean and beds very comfortable. We were thrilled with the breakfast buffet and how scrumptuous it was!!! Pavel, the doorman, is very helpful and funny and so is Robert, the waiter in the evening. In fact, every employee there was extremely personable and helpful and for the most part spoke both in english and spanish. I will stay here again when I return to Cusco 100%.

Great hotel and service. Walking distance to the plazas yet off the path and in a quieter section of the city. The breakfast was awesome. Excellent choice for my family and traveling with 2 small kids. Although I think the extra bed charges were steep, I stil consider this a great value and would certainly stay again. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I stayed here during Christmas week. The hotel is located about 5 blocks from the Plaza de Armas. Because of the high altitude I was unable to walk back to the hotel because it is located on an uphill street. We took a cab instead for approximately $1.50 to accommodate my shortness of breath.

The hotel, was intimate, architecturally very pleasing with the front part having been a converted mansion. Upon arrival, we were invited in to the courtyard area where we were served coca tea to help with the altitude. We arrived very early in the morning (about 7:30 am) and did not have to wait long for our room.

We chose an upgraded room because we wanted a bit more space and our location was perfect. We were at the back of the hotel, on the second floor. It was quiet, the room spacious, and the bathroom large with a jetted tub and seperate shower. Talking to other guests who had a standard room opening up to the courtyard/dining area, we were told their rooms were noisy because of the early morning preparations for breakfast. But they seemed to be pleased anyway. We had a choice of three catagories, chose the middle and I believe we were given the highest by the hotel. We had fresh flowers, fruit, robes and slippers. There is no heat or air conditioning in most hotels in Cuzco. Our room did have a portable radiator which we used due to inclement weather.

The breakfast was great! From yogurt, fresh fruit, granolas, eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, pancakes to three juices, coffee, tea and milk. We had the option to order from the menu with an upgraded room and did not feel the need to do so because the breakfast buffet was more than enough. When we returned from Macchu Picchu (around 9pm) we ordered chicken noodle soup to warm up and it was the best I have ever had! Served with angel hair pasta, I immediately tried to duplicate it when I got home to the US and couldn't come close!

On a side note, my daughter stayed in another hotel located just north of the plaza, comparably priced, rated the same, a week earlier and she said there was no comparison! The Terra Andina was far superior! She questioned the 3 star rating at the Terra Andina and we both felt that it should be rated at least a 4 star.. She preferred the other location, but being healthy, did not mind the extra walking to have a nicer room and better food.

The staff really made us feel at home. Although the custom is to celebrate Christmas Eve until the wee hours of the morning, they were working bright and early Christmas Day. There was nothing we asked for that they could not help us with! There is a computer in the courtyard (wireless) and never felt the need to even use the mini I brought...so convenient to check email, etc.

We were picked up from the airport by a very nice man who is also a tour guide. He was not pushy but told us that if we needed any tours he could help. We did book our ride to Peroy train station with him, our bus up the mountain for Machu Picchu, and our entrance fee to the site. His prices were a total of $5.00 US more...well worth the price to avoid any hassle in booking this. He could have also gotten us our train tkts, but we already had them. He was on time both going and returning from the train station.

By the way, the bedding was soft, warm, and even the pillows were comfortable! I would highly recommend this hotel if a 4-5 block walk is ok with you.

Upon entering the hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful - sitting us down and serving us coco tea and helping us through the registration process in our jet-lagged state. The room was small, but elegantly appointed. It had a window that looked out over the hallway, as a source of natural light, but we didn't find that a problem. We loved the Colonial architecture that remained in the restaurant/atrium area. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices for all appetites. Loved the location - close to traditional markets and shopping. Walking from Plaza des Armes and back in the early night was safe. The hotel staff advised us to take a taxi if we were later than 9 or 10. I appreciated the information.
One negative that cannot be helped is the narrow, one - laned street that the hotel is on and you have to literally stop traffic to pack or unpack your luggage into or from a taxi . If you are quick getting in or out, no one honks too much!
We researched the cost of other hotels, and we felt that we received very good value here.

We stayed at the Terra Andina in November and absolutely loved it. We were picked up promptly at the airport and transported safely to our hotel, where we were greeted with cocoa tea and a very helpful guide that assisted us in making reservations for tours the next day. The room was beautiful with antiqued furniture and a large, luxurious bed with excellent linens. The breakfast was pretty typical but there was plenty of hot coffee and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We would definitely recommend the Terra Andina.

Terra Andina Hotel is a nice clean hotel. Very convienent to the city center and about 15 minutes cab ride from the airport. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Before I arrived the hotel sent me an email to arrange complimentary transport from the airport to the hotel which was nice and took any apprehension I had prior to going to Cusco. It was also easy to find travel packages to Machi Picchu and a number of the surrounding attractions. Had a great time thanks to the staff at Terra Andina Hotel!
