While in a beautiful old school home, a friendly staff in their travel agency, restaurant, and counter, and a comfortable space to sleep, the good stops there of you want a real experience of Cusco. This place is located so high on a hill that man the walk is killer. The people that stay here are silly gringos who don't care one degree to leave this place... It feels like spring break everyday. The night myself and my girlfriend arrived they had what I felt was a disrespectful bar theme, "Lady boy" night, but that's me being a bit picky. The place was pretty expensive for the size of room we were in (dorm), but we were taking their tour he next day to Machu Picchu, so we decided that the hill wasn't worth fighting at super early in the morning. Speaking of the tour as well the bus was super late (about an hour and a half), but the price of the tour was just to good to pass up.

Room Tip: Larger dorms could be a bit noisey... There is some rooms that have a private balcony.., wahoo 420

My friend and I stayed at loki for 2 days in august and it wasn't a good experience at all. First, the staff made us wait around 30 minutes to answer us. For some reasons the person was passing everyone before us even though we kept telling we were there before. And secondly our room was next to the party so we couldn't sleep before 2am because the music stops at this time. I wasn't really impressed by anything. For the same price we decided to go to another hostal which was way better. And we appreciated also the other location because Loki is located up to a mountain so you have to climb around maybe 50 to 100 steps..

Admin staff were really helpful and friendly, rooms were huge and always clean. The bar and outdoor area are always full of people and a great place to meet people. The themed parties were so much fun. The travel agent within the hostel was really helpful and planned our entire macchu pichu trek! Easily the most fun I had in a hostel in Peru :)

Room Tip: Rooms closest to the front door/road are quieter- away from the bar

My wife and I stayed here for four nights in deluxe matrimonial room. The room had a huge window and a great view of Cusco. The rooms were clean and had a character. The staff at the reception and at 'Loki Travel' (in house travel agency) was very friendly and helped us in making travel arrangements. Loki Planet is a great resource and helped us in planning our trip. At the hostel you can pick up a small booklet which will provides a good overview of attractions, places to eat, city map and other helpful information. The breakfast options are good and I also enjoyed playing ping-pong just outside the restaurant. If I am back in Cusco, I am definitely staying at Loki.
(We stayed here in Sep'11, but couldn't select the date in review so selecting Sep'13)

Room Tip: For a couple the matrimonial room with panoramic view is highly recommended.

FIRST IMPRESSION: Welcomed by the Loki staff who were once again really helpful. The building is a huge restored colonial masterpiece with loads of dorms, plenty of bathrooms and a great view over the city.

STAFF: All the staff were really nice and theres always security at the door to ensure no randomers just wander in.

DORMS: Really comfortable, warm beds and our dorm (room 106) had a little balcony with gorgeous panoramic views. As expected with a party hostel, the dorms were noisy at times with people falling in at all sorts of times but that was expected.

BREAKFAST: The breakfast provided free from the hostel is awful (bread, jam and coffee) but you can buy breakfast however I wouldnt suggest doing this either - when someone gets a fruit salad wrong, you know thres a problem! The rest of the food on the menu is OK but small portions for big prices.

FACILITIES; There is an in-house travel agency which is good for booking trips or doing a walking tour. Sadly as with other Loki´s, there is nowhere to cook your own food or do laundry which can mean a pricey stay.

INTERNET: If youre in the bar or reception, the internet is good but elsewhere you will struggle to connect. The computers provided werent up to much so use the internet cafe at the end of the road.

OTHER; The only thing that I would like to bring up that we found so annoying was a 2am wake up call where management entered our dorm door, turned on the light and started having a loud conversation with other guests. I asked him to turn off the light and talk outside but he ignored me and continued - not cool, man!

Would you stay again? Definately, just preferably without the 2am wake up please!!!

This is by far the best looking hostel we have ever stayed in. Not just in Peru but South America. They have saved this historical building and restored it to it´s former glories in a way you would think it was a 5 star hotel.

The only problem was the occupents of the dorm, turning the light on at 5am having a laugh and a joke but that is not the owners fault.

Unlike most hostels, the place is very clean and even have hand sanitiser in every toilet. The beds are comfortable and have thick duvets to keep you warm. Most importantly the showers are hot and it is cheap.

WARNING! The hostel is located on top of a hill and is over 100 steep stairs up. This is not easy in altitude.

Room Tip: Stay AWAY from the bar.

I never stay in other hostel in Cusco, but Loki is really great and your staff is awesome. Sometimes the rooms with 16 beds can be noiser, but is really quiet at the morning.
I recommend and I'll come back in 2 days.
