This place is a little treasure. Friendly and super helpful staff. Nice quiet location minutes away from the hustle of city. Excellent breakfast and cleanest place I've been to anywhere in the world.
This place is a grade A stay. If you come to Cusco you have to stay here you won't regret it. I hated to leave the hotel as much as Cusco. Thanks you guys rock.

How I wish we had allocated more time in Cusco and less in Lima! This pretty little town tucked into the mountains is both elegant and timeless.
In particular we enjoyed our stay at the Torre Dorada. Everyone was so attentative as we arrived travel weary and excited. So much is included that from the moment we arrived and saw our driver, we felt cared for. How wonderful to have the check in process take place in the cozy breakfast room with a hot cup of Coca Tea!
The rooms are compact with very handy appointments - a desk and chair, closet space, lots of handy shelves and cupboards in the private bathroom. THey have nice touches like extra alpaca blankets and a heater.
There are also lovely little sitting rooms for each 3 or 4 rooms, supplied with round-the-clock tea, a bookshelf, and DVDs.
When we returned one evening wet and cold, there was Peggy with a fire and a chat.
The breakfast was incredible in its variety, even including cooked to order eggs - all appealing to the US heavy breakfast fetish.
Oh and the location is out of the way - good for the serenity of the park outside and our distance from various areas was well compensated for by the free on-call transportation.

Room Tip: There seems to be a difference in sizes. If a larger room is important, mention it.

i booked this hotel due to good reviews I read before booking, proven right! The first day we arrived having cold, they prepared us ginger tea with lemon and honey. They had booked our city and Machu Pichu tour, they packed us brekky and drove us to Perurail station. One big surprise was when they waiting for us to be picked up after the MP trip!
our room and bathroom is immaculately clean everday, the common lounging area is so comfy with free tea all the time, free chocolates at night before we go to bed.
It's a bit of a walk to the centre but they have free rides to/from the plaza. breakfast is good with freshly squeezed juices served with a beautiful smile from Lucy and David. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay in Cusco a memorable one, to David and David 2 (drives red car, sorry forgot your name) Lucy and 3 receptionists thank you!
We will come back to Peru to visit Puno and will book this hotel again. i hope to see everyone again soon!

Room Tip: we stayed at room 101, facilities are comfy plus humming birds visit evey morning in the garden.

We stayed for one night, with a second night booked a week later. In between, we walked the Inca Trail, and as the rain beat down on our tents, the loos got smellier, and the baby wipes ran out, we looked forward to getting back to the Torre Dorada in the same way as you would look forward to sleeping in your own bed. The team really do go out of their way to make sure their guests have a great stay and we knew there would be no nasty surprises. Two examples of great service: 1) We asked for instructions on how to get to Ollantaytambo, they told us prices for a private transfer arranged through the hotel or the public shared taxis. Instead of pushing us towards their transfer, when we decided to go for the shared taxi option, one of the staff drove us to the station, found us a car and negotiated with the driver to make sure we got a good price. 2) In between our two stays, we stored some bags and left laundry to be done. When we arrived back we found our bags and laundry neatly folded in our room ready for us. Instead of charging us per item for the laundry (which is how we'd filled out the form), they charged us the cheaper per kilo rate. Some caveats - don't go expecting luxury, this is more simple and comfortable; and also do be prepared that there is not much in the immediate area so you do need to arrange the car anytime you want to go anywhere / get a meal etc (which is fine and free and does mean the area is nice and quiet). Also one comment on an earlier posting - both our rooms were massive, so I guess it depends which room you get.

We had a faultless stay here and felt truly cared for! Comfortable and peaceful rooms and endless coca tea! It does not matter that it is not in the centre of Cusco as you are driven the 8 mins there/ back whenever you need and it's probably quieter too. My husband and I were quite difficult as we had not planned our onward travel and did not even know for sure what direction and tours we were able to do for the next week. Martin was amazing and intricately planned possible itineraries for us. Not only this but he booked them too and even helped cancel one (due to illness) later in the week when we were on the road AND he suffered the painstaking process of getting our money back to us! A phenomenal help, going above and beyond good service!

My brother and I stayed here for our stay in Cuzco and I could not have been more happy with the service and the hotel. We chose this hotel due to the high marks it had here on trip advisor. The staff was very friendly and helped us with any reservations to Machu Picchu. It did cost a little more, but not having to deal with the arrangements for hotel, park passes, train, etc. made it well worth the small fee. They also provided a lot of great information about the area and helped my brother and I rent a car & driver to take us to the many Inca ruins all over the Sacred Valley. We rented the car/driver for 2 days. 8 hours each day. It was nice to spend as much time as we wanted at the sights and visit ones 'off the beaten path' that normal tours skip. We also felt we got more than our money's worth.
The hotel is about ten minutes to the center of Cuzco and the hotel provides car service to all its guests so when you want to leave the hotel & return you do need to phone to have the car pick you up. The hotel was clean, and nicely decorated. All in all I would recommend this hotel. I would also stay there again the next time I visit.

We arrived, to be met off the train from Puno (would also totally recommend) by the hotel car. I had been ill, and on arrival mentioned this to the hotel staff. As soon as suited us we were taken to a pharmacy, so I could collect some meds, attended and assisted at all times by our driver. This set the tone for our stay; nothing was too much, the hotel vehicles (safe, clean, smooth) were always available to pop us in and out of the centre (making the location irrelevant in terms of proximity to the centre), when we needed cash we got taken to a good cash point and supervised, and were dropped off at an unholy hour for the start of the Inca trail. Breakfasts were a feast, cooked to order, and we had supper a couple of nights when suited before/after the Inca trail. Good home cooked food. There were also families with young children who seemed equally content. A truely brilliant place to stay, comfort, cleanliness and lovely staff who would do anything to make you content. The best place by miles out of anywhere we stayed in Peru.

Room Tip: The rooms are over three floors, but a lift is available. We were happy with both of ours.
