“Great hotel with excellent service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2010

We stayed at the Hotel Torre Dorada for one night before a 3 day hike and then returned for two more nights after hiking. We were welcomed into the hotel by the staff upon arrival where they then provided Cusco maps and explained some local options for tours, day trips, meals, etc then we were shown to our very nice room that had a comfy bed and nice bathroom with hot shower. Each floor has a lounge area with a tv and tea available 24 hours a day. The hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the main square, but that was no problem, as they provided free transportation to and from anywhere within the downtown area of Cusco! Anytime we had a question, the staff went above and beyond and did so much more than just provide an answer. For example, they arranged a driver to Pisac and a guided tour of the ruins there and the driver to wait for us while we had the tour, then drive us to the market where he then waited to take us back to the hotel. We also asked for a recommendation for a massage and rather than provide a name the hotel staff set up appointments for us and the driver for the hotel showed us where they were located prior to dropping us for to do shopping before the massage. This was a great little hotel and the staff spoke English very well and were very helpful and friendly. It also felt very safe and we felt comfortable leaving some of our items there for the 3 days we were hiking. We would definetely stay again if we are in Cusco.

The hotel staff were so ready to respond to all requests and even anticipated needs. The rooms were very clean. Hotel is newer so plumbing is new. A great advantage in this very old town. Is located away from the main square, but we found this appealing to be staying in an upper scale residential neighborhood. Hotel met all of our requests within minutes to travel to the main square and accomodated dropping us off where we were going. The staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Í´d stay here again for sure.

We absolutely loved Hotel Torre Dorada! Peggy and her staff were extremely helpful during our stay in Cusco. They assisted in arranging tours, transportation, restaurant recommendations, and held on to our luggage while we hiked the Inca Trail for four days. We liked the location, although it was a few kilometers from the Plaza de Armas, it was only a five minute taxi ride and much quieter than being right in the center of the town. Breakfast was outstanding and very fresh. The rooms were clean and the the hotel decor was neat. If we are ever in Cusco again we will definitely stay there again.

Upon our arrival from La Paz, Mariela processed the check-in. Then she reviewed the hotel's services. While in the lobby we arranged for the Scared Valley tour the next day and Machu Picchu the following day with an overnight stay in Agua Calientes. Mariela then showed us to our room & we used the car service to go into town. Within our first 1/2 hour we had planned 3 days.
Mariela was very helpful & directive/suggestive. She arranged all of the aforementioned tours; bringing vouchers & tickets to our room each evening. When there was some problem with our room cost in Agua Calientes, Mariela intervened & resolved the issue. After our Scared Valley tour Mariela had the car take us to Mega food store, where we purchased food for the MP trip; which she suggested. Mariela suggested the 430am wake up & departure for MP. We did that & it worked out great! We arrived MP around 930am with our English speaking guide. It rained & most or many people left MP. We had our rain jackets & food (I think we had already eaten the box lunches the hotel provided). It seemed we had MP to ourselves.
Peggy, the hotel owner, was pre-occupied with some of life's misfortunes. I spoke with her several times. I did not need to consult with her; the staff answered all my questions. The staff, Luis (day shift), Mariela (evening) and Danny (night) are honest, caring, facilitative, friendly professionals and all are knowledgeable to various degrees in English. The words my wife & I heard when we had a question/concern: 'no problem' & 'do not worry'. Some of the best words a tourist can hear.
We stayed 5 nights; could have stayed more. Certainly I recommend the hotel & the services it offers to tourists. I did not have to choose a travel agency or interact with one. Our Cuzco experience was made easy by TD hotel. I tipped this staff more than any other in our 5 week south American trip.

This is a great little B&B type hotel. There are several living areas to relax and if you want - get to know other guests. We had a wonderful experience meeting another couple who ended up joining us on a one-day excersion arranged entirely by hotel staff! Danny arranged a private trip for 6 of us to go to the Sacred Valley for the whole day. Everything was perfect, large comfortable beds, great breakfasts, service all at a very affordable price.

Stayed for 3 nights recently in April. Luis and the staff did a wonderful job of helping us get setup in the town and visit the local sights. There is a free, punctual shuttle to/from the hotel to the center of town. It's about a 5-10 min ride to the Plaza de Armas. The breakfast was delicious and we can't say enough positive acclaims about the service. Would definitely stay again!

Recently stayed for 4 nights in this little gem.

Hotel is located about 10 mins from Cusco town centre but a free shuttle service in/out of town is laid on at your convenience>

Peggy and her hotel staff of so efficient and friendly, always accommodating any hour of the day.

We left for Machu Picchu at 4am and the hotel staff were on hand to provide you with a packed lunch for the day.

Facilities are basic, but modern and free internet service with Skype is a bonus.

This hotel would suit anybody travelling around Cusco. A great stay!
