We spent 3 nights and received the same treatment as other hotels, at a third of the price. Area is central and safe, room was spacious, sufficiently clean and in order, owners nice and trustworthy. WiFi worked well and, despite what other reviews stated, water was hot and abundant. Highly recommended.

We arrived from Puno by bus very early around 5h30 AM. Obviously the room wasn't ready. Yet they allowed us to sleep in the couches in their lobby. Fortunately the guest who stayed in our room left very early for his excursion. They then cleaned the room and told us at 7h30 we could already move in. That was wonderful. The owners (husband and wife) were always very polite and friendly. Location is excellent. 300 meters or so from the Santo Domingo church. We paid 35 US$ for a room for 4 people. (2 parents and 2 kids).

This is a clean, basic hostel. If traveling on a budget, this is the place for you. Stayed 5 nights the first week of May. No heat, but lots of blankets. No AC, but it never got too hot during the day. I stayed in two different rooms during my visit and the first one was extremely comfortable. The mattress in the second room is definitely do to be replaced. The bathrooms and rooms are cleaned daily. This is a Spanish speaking family that runs the place but with sign language and minimal spanish words, they can figure out what you need. Water not near as hot as us Americans are use to, but not anything we couldn't tolerate. The breakfast was simple but they didn't hesitate to cook eggs for us when we asked for them. The hostel across the street is much fancier and costs double! So keep that in mind.

This place is near the main square, and many of the markets are within walking distance. Many nice restaurants are also within walking distance. The negative thing - is the walk back. You can't get home unless you walk up a very steep hill (or take a taxi).

Ask for a room on the back side, away from the main road or you might have to listen to a lot of horns during the night.

I felt very at home and comfortable here.

Room tip: Get room on the backside away from the main road.

Positive:
The staff is very nice, welcoming, friendly, Spanish speaking only. Location is great - close to the train station ( < 10min walk) and to the centre as well. The place is clean, it has a character. Small room with basic furniture. Cheap airport transfer.

Negative:
Lukewarm water; Paper thin walls; No heating.

Clean hostel with very friendly staff. The family who runs it offers commentary services (like pick-up) at fair prices. Rooms are rather small and a bit ran down. Cusco can be quite cold and the blankets offered are insufficient; we had to use our sleeping bags.
