“Wonderful Experience, Staff, and Hotel!”
Reviewed 25 August 2011

Cusco, Peru is magical! We visited Cusco for 2 nights before we headed to Machu Picchu for the 100 year celebration. We stayed in all of Casa Andina hotels while in Peru (except Machu Picchu) and had a wonderful experience. Their hotel in Cusco is a colonial style building with a large open courtyard in the center enclosed with glass. From the moment you check in, the service is impeccable. You are greeted in the lobby and immideately proceed to the lounge with a nice fireplace and a cup of Coca tea while you sign in. The concierge and staff was so very helpful & courteous with restaurant reservations, driving destination, luggage assistance and storage, taxi services, etc...You name it. The suite room was very large and comfortable. All of the hotels provide a very delicious welcome dessert plate and handmade artesanal soap and toiletries. Recommend not only this hotel, but the entire Casa Andina chain! The location was perfect only a few blocks from the main plaza.

The service was excellent, extremely courteous, the staff was all the time worrying about our comforts from finding us a taxi to the latest information on how to access a ruin. Rooms very comfortable and consistent with the location, the food was excellent! We loved the fireplace and the fire with a glass of wine!
What we liked most was the dedication of staff, now that perhaps could be improved is to modernize the tvs.

I stayed here for 7 nights. My room was very spacious with a flat screen TV, oil heater which was very effective, a desk plus a small table with 2 chairs and a closet. Bed was very comfortable! The hotel is in a beautiful old building, fitted out with modern comforts. There are many beautiful artworks throughout, including in the rooms. Free high speed WiFi and complementary coca tea upon arrival to help adjust to the altitude. Kettle with tea & coffee in room. I had a small window in my room, high up, with a view of the mountains - gave a good amount of natural light to the room. Bathroom was great - free bottled water every day and lovely soaps/shampoo/moisturiser etc. Water pressure in shower was strong & water was immediately hot. Laundry service available. Breakfast buffet was great - eggs/omlettes cooked the way you like right in front of you. Staff are very friendly and helpful, most speak very good English. Small shop with local crafts plus bar with complementary snacks. No elevators - stairs only so this is not ideal for anyone with mobility issues.

Literally just back from our trip to Cuzco and already writing this review. Our stay at Casa Andina Private Collection was magical. Hotel is gorgeous. We had a lovely room. Eating daily breakfast in the presence of the giant Escuela Cuzquena paintings was like being transported to another time. The staff were wonderful and helped us arrange for everything - cars to the train, taxi all the way back from Sacred Valley to Cuzco, etc. Everyone aimed to please & they sure did. If I go back to Cuzco, and after this trip, I think I will, I will DEFINITELY stay at this hotel.

My mom and I had a wonderful experience during our stay at Casa Andina, Cuzco.

Room was clean and tidy. A highlight on soaps and shampoos made from local fruits - exquisite fragance! Room and all locations had a beautiful andean decoration.

"Wine & tapas" was a great deal with the option of 3 glasses of wine plus unlimited tapas. Highlight on the local cheese and desserts.

Breakfast buffet had a great variety, plus service to our table.

Internet access was handy and always available.

Customer service was outstanding. We were provided with maps and accurate advise on local restaurants and gift shops as needed.

Very pleased to say we had a wonderful experience at Casa Andina and we look forward for a next time!

We didn't know what to expect when we visited Cusco, but found the Casa Andina Private Collection to be a great choice. The rooms were nice, the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating, and the location was excellent.

The hotel has a beautiful lounge area with a great fireplace where hot coca tea is always being served. The artwork in the hotel is stunning. The rooms are built around a central courtyard, and free wifi with two computers available for guest use allowed us to stay in touch with home.

The hotel restaurant was also good. In particular, Ishmael was a great server! When we popped in for a late night dinner after a long day at Machu Picchu, the restaurant provided a beautiful birthday cake for my husband. The breakfast buffet, included in our room rate, had fresh made omelets as well as a nice selection of hot and cold dishes.

The concierge went to great lengths to track down a lost silver bracelet for me, even calling a waiter from a nearby restaurant at home!! The front desk gave great directions for our walking excursions, and we found the area perfectly safe and non-threatening. We loved the hotel and the city. We would definitely stay here again.

This should be a lovely hotel. Unfortunately there's no management and it's like finding yourself in the movie "Home Alone". It's unbelievably noisy and when we asked for a quieter room they tried to charge us more. I will admit the room we wound up in was comfortable and clean. There's no real concierge to help with restaurants, etc. People take turns. The staff are lovely, but not very professional. For the price you'll want at least a well functioning hotel.
