We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this unique and historic building, serviced by a great staff with a very professional touch. We felt "at home" in Casa Andina Cusco and would return there in a moment.

Room Tip: We had two different rooms, having been away for one night, and both were unique and suitable. Both...

After very long flights to Peru (we were stuck in airports for 2 days because of a blizzard) we needed some time to relax upon our arrival to Cusco. Luckily for us, the staff at Casa Andina PC Cusco was unbelievable and took care of us very well. We were met at the airport with smiles and a cup of tea. The hotel concierge helped us buy a local cell phone (and set it up) so we could arrange with the airline to have our bags delivered (Air Canada lost them for 4 days) to the hotel.

I really like to travel abroad, but I'm never really sure whether I should stay at an international 4-5 star hotel chain like the W or Westin, or at a regional 4-star hotel like Casa Andina. I can tell you now, that in Peru (in retrospect) it is an easy choice.

We got a good rate for a 1 bedroom suite ($140 per night), but unlike the 5 star hotel chains, we didn't get nickel and dimed on everything. The WiFi was free, tea/coffee was free, there was a coffee maker in the room, and breakfast was included (and the spread was huge). Had we stayed in the Luxury Collection Hotel (an SPG property) in Cusco, we would have paid for all of these things individually in addition to the higher room rate.

The room itself was big and clean. The bed was comfy and the flat screen TV was nice. The bathroom had plenty of room, a shower, and separate bathtub.

But the thing that set this hotel apart for me was the service. It seemed every employee went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time and we didn't need anything else. They made us a dinner reservation (at Chicha which was fantastic), made recommendations about free activities, and set us up with a private car to take us to Urubamba (with a price that was cheaper than I could negotiate on my own with street cabs). On the day we left they even gave us some little presents and packed us a lunch.

Pros: Excellent service, very nice/clean rooms, walkable to Plaza de Armas (5 min), free WiFi, very nice/filling breakfast, good price.

Cons: Not many. No rewards program, not part of a big hotel chain.

Bottom Line: If you are looking for a great place to stay in Cusco I would absolutely recommend staying at Casa Andina PC.

Clean rooms and a good cooked breakfast buffet. Love the early hours for early flights or trips to Machu Pichu. The concierge was wonderful and set up a tour of the cusco ruins. I never experience any rudeness from the staff and everyone always said hello when passing. Good value!

We stayed 3 nights in all at Casa Andina Private Collection in Cusco . The hotel was excellent in all aspects . We had touch of altitude sickness so didn't venture out the first night and ate at Alma, their in house restaurant. Food was delicious .

The hotel is a short walk from Plaza de Armes and many other sights .

The hotel has an urn of coca tea where you help yourself and oxygen if required .

Staff are very friendly and nothing too much trouble but the hotel does not supply any water which really is disgraceful as in the high altitude you are encouraged to drink water. They have a little deli within hotel and you can purchase water which is better than nothing .

We stayed at Casa Andina Private Collection in Cusco and we loved it. The rooms are confortable and the service is the best. The restaurant as I recall is called "Alma" was one of the best restaurants in town. Truly this Hotel increases the experiences at staying in Cusco.

Room Tip: Don't worry about location, all the rooms are very nice.

In Cusco, we stayed at the Casa Andina Private Collection a total of 3 nights, not consecutively. We stayed there 1 night before our overnight trip to Machu Picchu. Then, we came back the next day and stayed 2 more nights. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped us with all of our needs. Since you can only bring 1 carry-on (and back-pack) on the Perurail to MP, we asked if they could keep the rest of our luggage until we come back from MP. It was not a problem and because we were staying at their hotel again, they didn't charge us. We were fortunate enough to get the same room both stay.

The hotel is obviously old, but the room was pretty updated. It had a large bathroom. The breakfast was very good as well and the dining room staff was exceptional! Also, the location was very convenient. It was a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas. We also felt safe walking at night to and from the Plaza.

We would definitely stay there again if we go back to Cusco.

Room Tip: If you have a hard time with stairs, you may want to ask for a grown floor. Not sure if there's...

I too found the hotel characterful and in a good location, a close walk to everything that matters. the staff were lovely and we enjoyed the restaurant, especially the omelettes at breakfast and evening meals but i found the room a little cramped for three of us and gloomy though the courtyards were charming.
