Casa Andina Private Collection is a wonderful hotel centrally located just a few blocks from Plaza de Armas and Cusco's main sites. The staff is friendly and helpful. There's always a smile and that personal touch that makes you feel at home. Upon arival in Cusco, we went straight to the Casa Andina booth located right next to baggage claim and they cordially greeted us, offered us tea and escorted us to the comfortable mini bus that took us to the hotel.
The Breakfast is wonderful with plenty of options. There is adequate wifi throughout the hotel. This used to be a colonial house from the early 1800s that was beautifully transformed into a hotel. Lobby and seating areas are beautifully decorated in Cusco colonial style. The courtyards are gorgeous. We enjoyed srecommendatione and relaxing while sipping our coca tea (which, by the way,is available 24 hs and is THE BEST for helping you get acclimated to the high altitude). The restaurant (Alma Viva) is excellent. Expect, of course, higher prices than other restaurants nearby as it's usually the case with restaurants located inside a hotel. However, you will find that prices in Cusco are, for the most part and for American standards for example, very reasonable. The rooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. Our stay was divided in two parts for we stayed one night in Aguas Calientes. We got a room overlooking one of the courtyards: very nice! My recommendation is: get there in the morning and take the rest of the day to acclimate. Rest, eat light foods, drink plenty of fluids (and coca tea, of course) and mild physical activity later in the day so you are ready to go the next day. Would stay there again!

Really wonderful place and central to everything, only 10 minute walk to the town centre. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Out side most room's you have a beautiful courtyard, nice to relax with a book or just for some quite time. My stay here was a pleasant one. So pleasant I returned a few week later. The restaurant serves up traditional Peruvian food and don't forget to try the pico sour, Peruvian alcoholic drink!

Good about the hotel :

a. 10 mins walking from everything, including the main square
b. Big room, we had a room 450 sq feet. Was a suite.
c. The staff is quite attentive and helpful

Bad about the hotel
a. Very dated room, the floors creak a lot and a real pain walking around
b. The room was very very noisy and we hardly had any night of good sleep. Traffic went on till 11pm and started at 7 in the morning
c. breakfast was at best average.
d. Concierge was always a different person and they would always recommend a very expensive travel agency that the hotel has tied up with. Most times the person staffing the travel desk had no idea about tours and had to keep calling someone else all the time. Very annoying
e. The hotel is spread over different levels and not easy to get your bags in and out without staff's help.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street and near the lobby or you will keep walking back and forth

Dear guest,

We appreciate to know about your feedback in regards to your recent visit at our Private Collection Cusco hotel.

As you mention, we are located near the main square. This is convenient for most of our guests, as they can easily walk through the city. Also, we are pleased to know that our staff was attentive to you and gave you an exceptional service.

On the other side, we consider important to mention that our hotel used to be a colonial house during the 18th century and has been refurbished for guest accommodation under certain guidelines of the National Institute of Culture. This is the reason why only slight infrastructure changes can be made.

We hope you can give us another opportunity to welcome you in our other hotels.

Best regards,

The Casa Andina Team

We felt welcome from the start. Every staff member we encountered had a smile on their face and a friendly welcome; during our stay we had many great recommendations from different staff about things to do and see - even reminders to take rain jackets or wear sunscreen ! The hotel is nicely decorated with beautiful courtyards for relaxing. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. The breakfast buffet was great, lots to choose from and very well set-up. The service in the dining room was rather slow and it took a while to get drink refills - but, as with other hotels we stayed at on this trip we wonder if that is more the "culture" than lacking service.
Defiantly recommend this hotel, great location for walking to many sights and shopping.

While the property is very nice, the staff is what makes this hotel so great. Everyone greeted us with a smile and they seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. The hotel itself is very nice with a great location. The included breakfast buffet was very good with a nice variety of items. Our room was nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this hotel in early June, 2014. Excellent facility and service. When we arrived home we discovered that my wife's card wallet wasn't packed in her luggage as we expected. It's a very thin wallet, and on reflection we decided we may have left it in the room safe. I called the hotel and to our relief, they had it. I have a pretty severe hearing problem and couldn't communicate well by telephone. I gave them my e-mail address and their employee named Jesus immediately started a correspondence and my wife's wallet is on the way home by DHL. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Cusco area.
