We stayed here two nights...the night before starting the 4 day Inca Trail trek and the night after finishing it. It's a nice little place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, quiet, warm and had a private bathroom with a large shower. The hot water was not steady but our showers were perfectly fine. Breakfasts were quite good. They even provide a laundry service at a reasonable price! Easy walking distance to the main square in Cusco. If you are looking for luxury then this may not be the place for you but it's a very comfortable basic hostel.

Room Tip: Rooms that are away from the walkway are quieter. Ours overlooked the courtyard and it was very quiet.

Stayed here on a tour so not sure of the cost of the rooms, but definitely don't pay over 40 a night if you book on your own- there are better options. Basic rooms, not the cleanest- had some bugs in ours each night to clear out, bathroom not the best- wasn't exactly dirty but not exactly clean either- I just don't think it's that hard to clean floors so wasn't impressed. Wifi only worked in main building near the lobby, we had a room in the back which was quieter than others from sounds of it. Shower temp was very sensitive, low pressure. and no moveable head, and not great curtain. Had a basic wall heater you had to turn on in the room, but rooms were still chilly, okay once under covers- NOTE: this is a standard issue in Peru- very few places even have heaters in the rooms. Very little English from most of the staff. Location is reasonably centered to a lot of things or within 10-15 minute walk. Can access this place mostly via main streets which is good for walking back after dark. In summary- basic and fine, just don't have high expectations.

On appearance this hostel was good. A basic room with private bathroom reasonably close to the main square. But this was the end of our positive experience. (Oh and the staff were ver friendly) The information sheet said permanent hot water and that all rooms have heaters. Given the coldness of the location both are essential. Our room had no heater and when we complained we were given a small fan heater that we couldn't use as it had a faulty plug. Hot water was rare but if you finally got hot water you had 3rd degree burns. Additionally, on one day we had no cold water to our bathroom so we couldn't flush out toilet. The breakfast was basic, as expected, but the bread was stale and very hard to chew.

Stayed in this Hostel both in the lead up to and after an Intrepid Inca Trail tour, which used this Hostel as a base.

The room was basic with a soft mattress and warm bedding. Shower was OK but took a while for the hot or lukewarm water to appear and only in a light stream of water.
Breakfast was simple, as with most other places, but you could get eggs for an extra 2 soles.

I think the staff of the hostel genuinely wanted to help but sometimes language was a barrier (most didn't know much English) and other times they weren't empowered to do certain things and had to defer to the owner who was rarely there. In fact, access to the office Safety Deposit box (not available in rooms) and checking out after I had made a deposit were near-impossible tasks! Only the owner of the hostel appeared to be able to do this and he wasn't always around or co-operative. In fact, when we returned from the Inka trail trek on a Sunday we wanted access to our secure things and the manager had to be called in especially - then he complained he didn't work Sundays! Even though I pointed out the sign on the wall which stated the hours access to secure items could be done - every day. Bad news if you had your passport in the Safety Deposit box and wanted to fly out that day! Then he promptly gave me someone else's stuff!

I recommend you use your money elsewhere as I wouldn't stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 night before our Inca Trail Trek, and the night following the trek. It was organized by our tour operator.

We stayed in room 204 that is just above the courtyard where they serve breakfast. This was a really cute room with a loft. The bathrooms was small but clean. The beds are very soft which can be good and bad a the same time! It was a warm bed though.

We got wifi in our room and had no problems with wifi at all so Im not sure about the other reports. However because this hostel is small, it is loud durning the day (form the staff) and you are sure to wake up at 4.45am when the other guests are waking up to go on their 4 day trek (not so bad when its your turn, but if you don't have ear plugs its hard to get back to sleep).

they stored our luggage while we were on our trek.

Friendly staff and great location.
