Five stars are not enough for The Garden House--this retreat was absolutely perfect for our last 2 nights in Cusco, and we wish we could have stayed longer! Ceci, Doris, and the rest of The Garden House staff made us feel like members of their family. While the gardens and the 3-room suites were wonderful by themselves, it really is the hospitality of the staff that puts this romantic retreat in a class all its own. We were issued a prepaid cell phone upon check-in that had the front desk number programmed into it--whenever we were out and needed a taxi back to the inn, we just called that number, explained where we were, and one of the innkeepers would arrange for a taxi to come pick us up. This way, we always knew that we were getting a reliable taxi service (unlike the first one we grabbed in Cusco, which tried to scam us) and that the taxi driver knew exactly where to take us (as The Garden House is located quite a distance outside the city center). We have traveled to many places and have had excellent experiences around the world, but the hospitality we received at The Garden House was second to none. If you are planning a trip to Cusco, look no further than The Garden House. You will not be disappointed!

The Garden House is a lovely inn surrounded by beautiful gardens and a high wall that separates the property from a sort of seedy neighborhood. I was worried when we drove to the gate, but after entering the grounds, I realized I'd made a great call with this reservation! Doris is the kindest and most accommodating hostess. I think she genuinely cares about the people who visit, and I felt we were staying with a favorite aunt. The rooms are big and comfortable and the breakfast is very nice, with good, strong French press coffee. Ask Doris about the wonderful photography displayed on the walls. The inn is handy to the airport, but you'll have to take a cab to the city center or to the train station.

If you are looking for a 'white glove clean, exceptional customer service, and a home away from home feel' this is your place! The Garden House of Cusco is a hidden gem and it really made our trip perfect. When we go back to Cusco we will only be staying at the Garden House. If I could give it 6 stars I would. I miss the lovely sisters already.

Perfect hidden retreat in a busy city. The hosts welcomed us with open arms after a very long trek along the Inca Trail! Exhausted, starving and needing a shower badly, the owner went out of her way to make us grilled cheeses so we didn't have to go to bed hungry. In the morning our breakfast was perfect! The owner called us a cab and suggested places to hang in Cusco before flying back to the states. A great place to stay we were sad we had to leave so soon! But we will be back!

This was the most amazing place. A beautiful house, beautiful gardens and an excellent staff. The breakfast was served in a lovely dining room accommodating our schedule each day, from 11 am when we arrived, to 4:30 am on the day we left for Macchu Picchu.
The owners became like family to us. They told us about the history of the house, all the flowers and plants in the garden and always offered their immense knowledge of the area and it's history. The rooms were beautiful and extremely spacious. The beds were amazing!
We all enjoyed the quiet area and could easily and quickly travel to the main square.
Our party consisted of my husband, myself, our 2 kids, my mother, and sister-in-law.
Everyone fell in love with The Garden House.
My family is eager to return and already making plans!
Don't miss out on this beautiful place!!

This was such a beautiful place. The rooms and the gardens were just amazing! Ceci and Doris were both so helpful and lovely. My girlfriend was sick while we were here and they both looked after her like she was their own daughter. Definately stay here!!

We checked into the Garden House on our second day in Peru on our amazing honeymoon a few weeks ago and we have to say it lived up to all the great reviews! This place wraps itself around you the moment you arrive and Ceci / Doris open the gates to greet you. The ladies are so adorable and just want to do everything they can to make your stay perfect....it is genuinely like a home away from home.

I was sick with cold and flu when I arrived and Ceci and Doris immediately got on the case making me cups of honey and hot lemon. They also went out of their way to advise on good restaurants, book taxis, do our washing!! And more. One place they told us about was Hacienda Huayocarri in the Sacred Valley which ended up being one of the best afternoon's of our lives....you get so much more of an experiencing staying at Garden House and learning from two natives who just want to make your stay the best possible.

On our return after a few days at Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley it was like returning to a special place we felt was familiar even after only one night. They strike the perfect balance of being there to advise and make you feel at home whilst giving you your own space.

We cannot say enough about the the place other than make sure you stay here!
