“Dream hosts and hotel”

Wow! The owners Doris and Ceci were extraordinarily sweet, charming and caring but at the same time very efficient to ensure that our holiday went exactly to plan. They looked after us so well during our stay and even accompanied me to their family dentist when I had toothache. I have never experienced anything like that kind of care from a hotel owner! The Garden House was our base for 14 nights and it was never a problem to leave luggage and valuables in their safe while we went off on tours. We stayed in the hotel for 7 nights and spent many happy hours laughing with Doris and Ceci. We were so sad to leave! The hotel itself is 15 minutes drive from town but taxis are very cheap and the distance meant that it was quiet. Breakfasts were lovely and we always looked forward to the coca tea in the evenings. Cusco was very cold in the evening, so a heater in the room was very welcome. I love the fact that the hotel was really a very large home and it felt just like a home for us.

I can not say enough great things about this home/hotel! It was clean, cost effective and one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Ceci and Doris were wonderful hosts and go out of their way to ensure your stay is superior and comfortable. I highly recommend staying here.

One of the best "house hotels" in the world we've stayed in. It's a beautiful home surrounded by gorgeous gardens a 10 min taxi ride from city (approx US$3.50). The owners, Doris and Ceci Sanchez provide a fantastic experience and breakfast. The bedding is excellent and comfortable and we loved it. They speak impeccable English and offer excellent advice on local fare, Machu Picchu tours, and purchases. Reasonable prices and beautiful room. Would stay there again. If going in the southern hemisphere winter, bring warm clothes.

Room Tip: The two room suite was great.

We stayed with Doris and Ceci Sanchez for 3 nights before our trip to Machu Picchu and one night after. All 3 of us agreed that we have NEVER met hostesses like Doris and Ceci. Doris was up every morning, no matter the time, with breakfast for us. Ceci met us at the door each night, no matter what time we returned. They made ALL of our reservations for us, dinners, tours, notifying hotels of our arrivals in Puno. They made their drivers available to us during our trip. We were treated like royalty. Our only hope is they will come to the US so we can extend the courtesy!

My husband and I stayed at the Garden House for a few days before, and for one night after our Inca Trail trip and would highly recommend it to anyone! Absolutely no complaints. Lovely place, amazing hosts and delicious breakfast every morning!! It's a bit out of the way, but cabs are cheap enough that it really isn't a hindrance at all. Ceci and Doris were both exceptionally helpful, and would always order cabs for us to ensure we didn't get ripped off, and also provided us with a cell phone when we went anywhere, so they could always be reached and help out if needed.

The house and gardens are a lovely escape from the bustle and dirt that comes with exploring Cuzco, and we were always greeted with a smile and genuine warmth from our hosts. They literally did anything they could to make our visit easier. It is very clear that they both truly enjoy taking care of travellers and are delighted to share their home. Look no further!!

We spent three nights at The Garden House (two before our trip to Machu Picchu and one upon our return) and we cannot say enough good things about the place and about Doris and Ceci Sanchez. We booked a standard double room on line and room did not disappoint. It was large and very comfortable with a separate sitting room area and spacious bedroom. The bed was comfortable and little touches (like the heater in the bedroom, slippers and a thermos always filled with hot water for tea) really made the room special. The Garden House provided free transfer from the airport to the B&B and our pick up was effortless. The drive was about 20 minutes from the airport and the B&B is situated among lush gardens. Breakfast was prepared to order and included delicious fruit, juice, eggs and bread. We had arranged for a car to take us on two full day trips to explore the Sacred Valley and Ceci arranged for an excellent driver (Esteban) to be with us both days. We had an outstanding experience on these trips only made better by the personal recommendations Ceci gave us before we set out each morning. In addition to the great service we received at The Garden House, Ceci and Doris were both incredibly warm and kind. You hardly feel like a guest here as they are welcoming, generous and excellent hosts. In fact, they both go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. The provision of a local cell phone (to call them to arrange a cab from the Plaza de Armas when you want to return to the hotel) and their tips for dining in Cusco are just two examples of their excellent hospitality. We had to reach out to Ceci from Ollantaytambo as we had left our credit card in a bag back at the Garden House and were worried that this would be needed at Machu Picchu. Ceci went above and beyond to find the card in our luggage, arrange for Esteban to drive it to us in Ollantaytambo the next morning and thereby ensure we would not have any problems entering Machu Picchu. We both know this kind of service would not be possible at a chain hotel. Doris and Ceci have a beautiful and welcoming home in Cusco and we cannot recommend The Garden House highly enough. Go to Cusco, stay there and you will not be disappointed!

First off, I was greeted with a smile and a hug! Then offered some lovely coca tea and a nap. The room was HUGE! Separate rooms for my mom and I. Ceci gave a cell phone to call at any time to arrange transportation or if we ran into trouble. I got altitude sickness, and the sisters took very good care of me, giving me oxygen, and even making a delicious soup as i could barely get out of bed! They are truly compassionate and caring sisters. I felt like I was staying with family. They made AMAZING breakfast as well! This was the perfect base to explore Cusco and Valle Sagrado. It is a little far away from the main square, but honestly I needed the quiet to get a good night's sleep and it is only a cheap taxi minute and approximately 15 minutes away. They also were very helpful in arranging us a group tour so that we could see Cusco, and we got lost from the tour guide! So I whipped out the cell phone, made a call, and quickly reunited with the group! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Garden House for anyone's stay in Cuzco or a home base to explore the Sacred Valley. They also have excellent suggestions for everything! These sisters will make you feel like you're with family and at home, and truly care about you from their hearts!

Room Tip: if you are more than one person, 2+ bedroom suites is the way to go
