Great food at a great price. Since I have been living in Iquitos for 10years now I have never eaten here until recently. Now can't stop coming. I highly recommend this shush-kabob joint for any tourist!

“yummmm”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

the type of gem of a place you hope to find. unpretentious, extremely cheap and featuring the freshest hand picks of the day: meats, vegetables, assorted and grilled to perfection. they also offer some quiches and other stuff. No alcohol here which was the only con.

“Great variety of shish kebabs (including vegetarian)”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

Great place to get good, inexpensive, grilled shish kebabs. You will find a great variety including, chicken, sausage, mushrooms, rocoto, stuffed potatoes. Service is fast and friendly. Very good value. Heads up for hard core vegetarians, the same grill is used for meat and vegetables.

“Never Disappointing”
Reviewed 21 March 2014

I'm a gringa and live in Iquitos. El Sitio has the best shish ka bobs in town along with some other interesting quiches and such. You simply cannot find anything like it anywhere in the whole city. It's basic dining and with lots of street noise but other than that, no complaints. The grill doesn't heat up until about 7:30or 8 PM so keep that in mind. I believe it is open for pastries in the morning.

“Great Local Food”
Reviewed 7 February 2014 via mobile

We visited twice and thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. El Sitio's main attraction is its skewers, which range from sausage and broccoli to cheese and peach to chicken and potato to even some wilder meats like heart and curry sausage, all of which are served with a carrot/cucumber salad and yuca wedges. The restaurant is a big, open place that was always full of locals, and the wait staff and grill master (located right on the sidewalk in front of the building) were super friendly. Another plus was the cost! When we visited, one skewer was 4.50 soles, or about US$1.20.

I also recommend trying the wide variety of juices that they serve, which were always strange and delicious. Knowing Spanish would be a plus if not a requirement. When you walk in, you can choose skewers by pointing, but it would be difficult to guess what is on the stick just by looking at it, although everything we tried was pretty tasty.
