Yes, a really Swiss restaurant in Lima, Peru… of course it had to be at the Swissotel. We were invited by the Manager Sales for a site visit, and he has been working there for as long as the hotel has been existence 17 years and really knows the ins and outs of the property.
Meal consisted of three courses of fondue and fondue and eyes more fondue… really perfect meal if you love things bubbling away.
Started with a traditional Gruyere fondue which was really quite yum, followed by a meat fondue which was nice as it came with some Peruvian condiments such as rocoto (Peruvian spicy aji chutney). What I found paired real well was the bread, authentic cheese fondue and the rococo!
To complete the meal, we had a Toblerone chocolate fondue with fine chopped almonds, which was served with biscotti, bite size brownie and cake, and an assortment of fruit including kiwi, strawberry, banana, pineapple and melon. And if all that isn't enough to eat with your fondue fork, they give you a spoon to lap up the deliciousness that the chocolate fondue is.
To complement the wonderful service, is professional service with a smile. Most Peruvians don't like to venture outside their comfort zone of Peruvian cuisine and so they really explain every little item.
Very impressed with the service at Swissotel!
