“80%, but a few administrative issues”
Reviewed 14 February 2014

the hotel is beautiful, the facilities lovely, however when we arrived at 10pm with food to cook we discovered that the gas connection was broken and was not fixed until the next day at a bout 10.30am... The listed DVD player (we had several discs with us) was not in the room and took 2 days and 4 questions at reception to arrive and then we discovered that the "FREE BREAKFAST" that is "included" in the price was subject to a $3/person compulsory "tip" which does not make it either free or included in the price of the room. Admittedly they deleted this from our account when we stated that a compulsory "tip" is a fee for breakfast, but it should not be there in the first place!

Overall, a wonderful place and pleasant experience marred by bad administration :(

Dear guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor. I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed your room and our facilities, and I want to apologize, once again, for the terrible "mandatory tip" that the servers put on your breakfast. Our breakfast is indeed free, and there is no "mandatory tip", because as you mentioned, then the breakfast would not be free! We have talked to the restaurant staff and front desk staff and have secured that this will never happen again. It is truly a shame that such a pleasant experience would have to be tainted by this. Upon your inquiry about the DVD, we have double-checked to make sure that all of our rooms have their DVD units. Also, we are sorry that we weren't able to fix your gas connection right away. Since the problem was noted after 10pm, there were no stores open that could sell the parts needed to repair it, that is why we repaired first thing in the morning so you could enjoy your apartment as you deserve.

Thank you again for choosing us for your stay in Lima. Words like yours contribute to our personal and institutional growth and allow us to prepare even better stays for our future guests.

All the best,
The Peru Star Team

This is the 3rd time that I have stayed here! The rooms and apartments have everything that you need, from crockery and cutlery, to stereo system, tv and very comfortable beds. The garden and pool are well kept, and the entire establishment is spotlessly clean. The staff cannot do enough to make you happy, will book trips, reserve taxi's, book restaurants or advise where necessary. A very safe location, banks and supermarket within walking distance, and small shop on the corner if you forget anything! Restaurant on site serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. I recommend this place unreservedly! Tip- if you travel by taxi, keep the address and map ( on card in all rooms) with you, as it's so well hidden that some taxi drivers don't know where it is!

I travel to Lima for work quite often for meetings in San Isidro. Peru Star is an ideal place to stay as there are very nice, quiet rooms, a good complementary breakfast, and friendly staff all for a much lower price than you can find for similar deals in the area. The rooms themselves are each unique in design and layout - it is not a standardized room design like most hotels. The taxi service is contracted out to a third party and although it is very reliable and safe, tends to run on the expensive side ($35-$40 one-way to the airport, if I remember correctly). When needing to stay at a hotel in Lima, this is a great place to stay!

Room Tip: If you have a lot of luggage, it is better to stay on the second level as there is no elevator and y...

We recently had a pleasant stay at Peru Star Apartments. The hotel is located in a quiet, nice location in San Isidro. The rooms are spacious, clean and airy with everything you could wish for from a modern kitchen to a huge TV. The highlight of our stay was definitely the staff who were more than helpful especially Diego who was very friendly and gave us lots of advice about visiting Lima.

I checked in for a week while visiting family in Lima, it is located close to my granddaughter's school. The hotel was most comfortable and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately I fell I'll during my stay and the staff were most concerned and accommodating. I would like to thank everyone at the hotel in particular the reception staff and Diego.

I would not hesitate in staying here again.

We stayed here for one night at the beginning of our Peru adventure and one night at the very end before flying home, and were very happy with the hotel. It's small but very cute. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfy, plenty of hot water. The small on-site restaurant was very good, and the "included" breakfast was great (fruit salad with yogurt & granola, eggs, coffee and juice, I believe). The neighborhood seemed very safe, and was closer to the airport than the hotels in Miraflores or Barranco (although it was still 45 minutes away during traffic hours). Their shuttle to the airport seemed quite expensive however - they wanted $40 dollars, when we had paid a regular taxi driver only 40 Soles to take us from the airport to the hotel (with the exchange rate at approximately 3 Soles to 1 Dollar US). So we used a taxi. My only other complaint, after reading the other reviews, is that no one ever told us about the pool! We stayed there 2 nights and never knew there was a pool. Granted, we didn't have time to swim, and it was rather chilly when we were there, but it might've been nice to relax with a cusqueno or pisco sour at the pool! Still, I'd definitely stay there again when in Lima (but next time I'm going to be looking for the pool!)

This is a really good alternative for a cheap stay in Lima. The staff, the breakfast and the facilities are really good. We were five staying at this location (3 kids) and felt the rooms, pool, breakfast and internet made everyone happy after spending long days sightseeing around Lima. The staff is ready to answer most of your questions. They also have a pickup service from the airport which is really helpful. Highly recommend this place for families.
