what more can you ask, bags taken up to our room upon arrival, owner's super nice & speak perfect english & super accommodating, taxi'd around, had nice room across from the pool & outdoor lounge area which we relaxed and ate. It's like a little piece of heaven right in the city. Close to the grocery store, bakery, restaurants, banks & and hand to go to Miraflores & downtown Lima within 10 - 15 min drive

Fantastic! My wife and I have been coming to Peru Star for about 8 years. The prices have increased some since our first stay; however, it is still the best deal in town. We have stayed at the Double Tree, Marriott and other high end hotels in Lima, but we both believe we get more for our money at Peru Star. Staff goes the extra mile to ensure guests feel comfortable and welcome. Thank you Peru Star for continually ensuring a positive experience. Keep up the good work…

I think the best thing I can say about Peru Star is that we felt very relaxed and comfortable there. It is quiet behind the walls of its side street location, there are beautiful plants and we found it well decorated. The staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful. There are modern conveniences like Internet, TV's and radios. You can eat breakfast or read a book in the shade outside if you want. It was convenient to have a small kitchen. Taxis were always available on the nearby Prescott street.

We were greated courteously and our bags taken up to our room which was clean a little small but with a spacious and well equipped kitchen/ dining room ,.with lovely view over the garden. It is in a quiet residential area, only 50m. away from cheap taxi's(negotiate price first) and two blocks from Banks,Restaurants,Supermarkets. The area feels very safe even at night with Police and Security everywhere.Would we return to this Hotel? without hesitation.

Me and my family stayed in Hotel Peru Star for a month (we were in Lima for adoption). We had a 3 room apartment with direct acces to the garden an the pool - During the day we almost had the very cosy and flowerish garden to our selves.

Hotel Peru Star is located in San Isidro - just near to the "2´de mayo" street with a bunch of fine restaurants, and two great supermarkets "Vivanda" and "Wong". And 4 dollars in a taxi will bring you to anywhere in Lima and Miraflores from there.

We recommend Peru Star to all travellers, but very much to families.

We stayed in the Peru Star Apartments Hotel as we wanted a three-bedroom flat to accommodate our party, and according to part of their website, they could do that. On arrival we discovered that they meant three beds rather than 3 rooms. This rather took the shine off our first night, although the apartment we were given was fine. The bathroom was clean, as were the bedsheets, although there was popcorn on the floor and some dodgy wiring in the lounge. There were not enough towels and we also had to get new batteries for the tv remote control. This all sounds like little gripes, and they are, but it was slightly disappointing given the swish looking website and the level of service we were expecting.

The next morning the extremely efficient and helpful lady (?Janet) on the reception desk swiftly took us to look at another apartment. This one was much bigger (still 2 bedroom, but spread over two floors) and we were offered the opportunity to swap, which we gladly accepted. The bathroom and beds were clean, there was a slightly esoteric collection of cutlery and crockery in the kitchen, but all was fine.

Breakfast consisted of fresh coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, a small bowl of very nice fresh fruit salad, bread with jam. We never did quite work out why some people also had scrambled eggs every day (we were offered it only on 1 morning). The outside area to eat breakfast is lovely - covered in flowering trees and shrubs. There was also a beautiful ceramic water filter.

The pool was fairly clean (well, we went in and survived), the 'hot tub' mentioned on their website was a small area at the end of the pool, with the water lapping from the main pool into it and back again. So I guess it is 'hot' when the water in the main pool has been heated by the sun.

We accepted the hotel's airport taxi service (for $10 each). Our flights didn't leave until early evening, so we spent the morning out shopping. We had left our bags in our apartment, being told by the ever-helpful ?Janet that someone would bring them to reception while we were out. When we returned they were still in our apartment - which (even though we had checked out) we were still allowed to use. This was great, as we were able to chill out in the lounge and use the toilet in our own apartment. These little touches were really welcome.

The service we received was very helpful and charming (helped by the fact that two-thirds of our party are fluent in Spanish, possibly?). And even though things weren't entirely what we expected, we would still return here when we wanted to treat ourselves to somewhere a bit more upmarket than our usual Lima hostel. As another review mentioned, there is nothing to indicate that you are at Peru Star Apartments from the street (which can be a bit disconcerting if your taxi driver dumps you and drives off into the night as ours did...). The advantage of the area is just how quiet it was - we couldn't believe how little we could hear from the second apartment (which overlooked the swimming pool). No traffic noise at all really. Incredible. There is a supermarket within walking distance, and we always managed to get a taxi pretty quickly by walking to one of the nearby larger roads. All in all, it was good. Just be aware of that website....

My husband and I spent our last night in South America at this hotel. We had hoped for something quite restful and plush to give us a good night's sleep before we left for the long plane journey home.

The photos make the place look newer than it is, but it's still not a bad representation. The rooms are just starting to look a little shabby at the edges, and so not as pristine as they could be.

Overall, rooms clean, bed comfy, breakfast was really very lovely, and served outside (see other people's pics) pretty much when you want it. There's a pool. Did not look like anyone was using it (not really warm enough) so needed a clean on the surface.

Room big, with safe, comfy bed, good TV with good channels (think they had BBC1 there if memory serves me correctly, anyway, lots of English speaking stuff). Kitchenette etc - but we never used it.

Location is really in a residential area. Most taxi drivers needed to know a bigger road it is near as they did not know Burgos specifically. (Was not really a problem). Taxi prices varied quite a lot. Seems that from cenrte of town to hotel was being charged at about 10 soles and it cost about the same from Millaflores. (Think that was just cause I was not good enough at negociating).
