Had a wonderful time with Chef Carlos. He is so friendly and very funny. Just loved it! Went to the market with Chef Carlos and tasted many different fruits and seeds. Afterwards went to Chef Carlos' place to cook with him. His house is just gorgeous! Highly recommend it!

“Memorable Experience”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

The one day Culinary Excursion with Chef Carlos is an experience my husband and I will always treasure. From the introduction to new and exotic fruits, vegtables and seafoods at the market to the fabulous class at his roof top terrace this is a excursion that should not be missed if you love food, new flavors and cuisines. Plan an extra day in Lima for this. You won't be disappointed.

“One of the highlights of our trip”
Reviewed 28 December 2011

We were in Peru for a wedding and the bride set up a tour for a group of 8 guests. The bus picked us up at our hotel and took us to a local juice bar so that we could sample some of the local fruits which was an excellent way to start the tour and get to know Sandra, our tour guide. From there we met by a local chef at a farmers' market. He showed us a lot of the fruits we had just tasted at the juice bar and talked a lot about them. The chef also talked a lot about local vegatables and the history of food in Peru. Finally, the bus took us to an organic farm/restaurant in a nearby village where we were greeted by a wonderful staff serving pisco sours. The staff then took us through cooking a few traditional Peruvian dishes and gave us the recipes so we could cook them back home. After our class, we sat down as a group and enjoyed the meal we had all prepared.

Outside of the wedding, this was the highlight of our trip because we got out of Mira Flores and saw a lot more of the area and met some of the locals. Our guide, Sandra, was amazing and spoke excellent english. She even gave us a lot of the photos she took while we were on the tour.

If you are visiting Lima, this is something you should not miss.

“Wonderful experience all around!”
Reviewed 9 November 2011

We did a two week Peru tour with Pica Peru, including cooking classes and curated dinners. Pica Peru made many great suggestions for the itinerary and customized the tour to meet our requirements. The services were top notch. We are very happy with the cooking classes in Sacred Valley and Lima. We had lots of fun.
We would defintely go to Pica Peru next time when we go to Peru. Will highly recommend Pica Peru to anyone who wants to experience Peru.

“What a nice experience”
Reviewed 21 October 2011

Took this magnifient tour and enjoyed it all the way through.
The market visit was very interesting, even for me, a native Limeno.
The Pisco sour recipe and tasting was an excellent touch and important to learn about Peru's main alcoholic beverage. It was made to perfection at La Gloria Bar, one of the best in Lima.
Then the class with Chef Fernando Oeschle for simple but great dishes.
Scallops Parmesan, Tuna Tataki and Black Risotto with seafood.
Magnificent !
All is done in English and Sandra makes it an excellent afternoon.
Do not miss it.
