Casa Bella Miraflores
Ranked #61 of 230 Hotels in Lima
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 25 June 2012

Casa Bella Miraflores is in a really great location less than one-half block from the cliffs overlooking the ocean and the famous lighthouse Faro La Marina (also known as the Faro de Miraflores). Along the top of the cliffs overlooking the ocean is a linear park with beautifully maintained gardens, sculptures (including the Parque del Amor - Love Park), paved bike and walking paths, dog parks, children's play areas, a huge tennis club, a BMX bike dirt track and skate board park, and a shopping mall built into the cliff face (Larcomar). Especially in the mornings many Peruvians jog and bike along these paths before going to work. The area is very safe.

The hotel really is more like a very comfortable and homey bed and breakfast with clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows and excellent breakfasts that includes eggs made to order and a selection of fruits, juices, breads and cold cereals. The breakfast area is small but we never and a problem finding a seat. During breakfast we met fellow travelers from all over the world - something rarely accomplished at a Marrott Hotel!

The staff is very helpful and friendly and they all speak excellent English. There are many restaurants in walking distance.

There is a computer available for guest use but the Google screen is usually set to Spanish. The staff can help change it to the English version. My daughter had no problem using the Wi-Fi on her iPhone but it did not work for me on my Android Smart Phone.

Other than this minor inconvenience we had no complaints.

We met the owner on our last day as we were about to leave for our flight home. He is very committed to continuously improving the facilities (he also owns the Casa Bella B&B Boutique Hotel at Las Flores 459 San Isidro). He offered a free bottle of water for our trip home and actually helped load our luggage into the taxi! He was very friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend the hotel as being an excellent value.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights before starting an organised tour of Peru
The hotel itself was clean and the staff could not do enough for us
Rooms are a bit dated but have everything you need and there was hot water, which after two weeks in Peru I found was not the norm for most hotels
It is located in a safe area of Lima and about a 10 minute walk from restaurants/bars
all in all we had a pleasant stay here and would recommend this hotel to our friends

our group stayed at casa bella (as this was selected based on reviews of others). as a tour operator, I was a bit disappointed with the facilities. it is not a bed and breakfast even though it is in a former house that got coverted into a small hotel. the rooms were clean, however some of the bathrooms were worn (with moldy and sagging particleboard under the sink in two rooms). for the third floor, you'd need to use two different stairway as the stairway in the back was blocked with construction debris, that we'd need to use the main stairway to get to the ground floor - a bit inconvenient. most of our group said that they thought it was all right. the biggest plus is the hotel's location as we were able to walk to restaurants, etc. and at the same time, in a quiet residential neighborhood. the staff seemed to be either helpful or unhelpful. would I want to use this again for our future tour? probably not.

I stayed at Casa Bella MIraflores last month with my partner on the strength of the reviews, but were very disappointed after the stay. The room we stayed in was quite dirty and didn't appear as nice as the pictures would otherwise suggest. The room and corridors were also dark at night as result of insufficient lighting. The breakfast had very limited choices. The staff, while overall friendly, was not as helpful as they could have been - they forgot to place towels in our room and couldn't give us a city map that would show clearly where the hotel is located (they handed us a blurry map printed from the internet).

While the rates here seem to be slightly cheaper than other hotels in MIraflores area, I don't think the hotel has provided much value for money, and couldn't recommend anyone staying here.

We were very happy staying in this hotel. The room I would say about 3 star hotel, but clean. Staff was very friendly. It is located in perfect area just five minutes from the loves park near the shore. It is a little bit a walk from the restaurants. We spent only half of the day and one night in Lima. The hotel contacted a tour company just an hour before the tour to book a couple hour tour of the City of Lima. Also, my husband felt sick and I did not want to walk alone in the dark, so receptionist helped me to order the pizza delivering to hotel. I have a positive experience about it. Only, that in some circustances we had to take earlier flight from Cusco. I sent an email to hotel notifying that we will need a cab earlier to pick up us from the airport, but when we landed nobody waited for us. The receptionist told that they saw email just half an hour later after we landed in Lima. So it just one unpleasant thing what did happen.

I appreciated being contacted by the manager while on the way to the hotel to let us know that they were having some plumbing issues and we had to be relocated for our first night. The other hotel was only right around the corner. However, we would have really liked to have stayed at Casa Bella on both our scheduled nights instead of just one because the other hotel room had a very strong musty smell to it. We really like Casa Bella though, the staff was helpful and they have an airport transfer service which we really appreciated instead of having to call a cab.
