We loved our stay at the JW - concierge serevice is excellent and they recommended local (very local and authentic) restaurants to dine at and attractions to go to...loved the walk to the park that the church takes care of, which is home to about 80 sleepy cats who look well fed and very layed back - they don't even notice you!...JW Marriott is in the middle of the action and highly recommend it to you, when you visit Lima.

The JW Marriott is the best place to stay in Lima. The location on the coast is perfect. The hotel sits above the beach, across from a lively upscale mall. It feels like you get to see regular people go about life on a Sunday, or any day, really. Nearby, there are restaurants serving the local business community. I got to eat with the locals, so to speak; the food is outstanding wherever you go.
The hotel itself is quite nice although, as some have commented, the walls are quite thin. Try to get a room on the highest floor possible to avoid street noise, if that bothers you. I was facing the beach in room 810. Really incredible sunsets and views of hawks and hang-gliders sharing the wind. The best part of the hotel, however, is the staff. As others have commented, truly a professional and caring staff. The food is quite good though not inexpensive. Sunday brunch is a must, if only to see regular Peruvians enjoy Sunday brunch. I got the feeling that the Marriott is a special occasion place for locals, which really added to the feeling of "being in Peru".
If you can afford it, take full advantage of the Marriott's fleet of chauffeured Mercedes. Not inexpensive but well worth the expense. You feel really safe being driven by professional derivers with a good knowledge of the city. It also feels cool being chauffeured around Lima in Mercedes, too.

This hotel offers one of the best Executive lounges in Latin America. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful in their duties. They seem to want to go the extra mile to serve their guests. This is especially true of Rosa Navarro and HR should be congradulated on their hiring practices. Rosa Navarro is a very congenial and friendly with everyone that enters the lounge. She really cares about each individual and makes sures their needs are addressed.
Since December 2103, I spend at least two weeks a month at the JW Marriott in the Mira Flores district. I suspect my business travel plans will continue this trend for quite some time. I find all the staff very very friendly and accommodating. I would like to express a very special thank you to Eduardo and Maycol, in the JW Lounge.
Being away on business for extended periods can be challenging at times. Dealing with Eduardo and Maycol, help ease the time and make my visit enjoyable, to say the least. I'm always greeted with a smile and professional courtesy Keep up the great attitude.

Our stay in Lima was complicated by my husband contracting a stomach bug in Aguas Calientes. Fortunately, the entire staff at the JW Marriott went above and beyond my expectations to make my husband as comfortable as possible before we returned the the states. All of our requests were delivered promptly and kindly, and the day of our flight we were even granted ultra-late check-out (7pm) at no additional charge because my husband was too ill too leave the room before heading to the airport for our flight.
Furthermore, our corner room on the 14th floor, with an ocean view, was absolutely gorgeous. Every detail was attended to when the room was cleaned (great job housekeeping staff!) and the Illy espresso maker in the room was a very nice touch.
The breakfast spread at the hotel is wonderful and the service there is excellent too. I had to eat my breakfast alone, and the restaurant sent a beautiful red rose to my table. The ceviche in the lounge is also stellar.
We are very sorry for the unfortunate incident of your husband during your trip to Peru. Thank you very much for your kind words about our staff going the extra mile to make your stay an unforgettable one in each and every aspect.
