“Excellent Business Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 February 2011

The hotel is kept immaculately clean and well kept. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are very new and modern. They have direct TV with lots of channels and free wi-fi throughout the hotel. The staff is incredibly nice, and although I speak Spanish they spoke English fluently for my colleague. They were helpful and always welcoming. I would even stay here for a vacation and the location is excellent and safe. I am a gym rat and they have a full service membership gym connected that hotel guests have free access to. This was a huge plus!

lt was my second stay in the month, at Doubletree El Pardo, having first arrived late in the evening on 9/08, and departed early the following morning, on my way from Buenos Aires to the Northern Hemisphere, so my experience was minimal. On this second occasion, l had arrived earlier in the evening, traveling from London, via Madrid, on my way back to Buenos Aires, ready for a good dinner and plenty of sleep. For an overnight stay, l must say the hotel is further from the airport than advertised, as it took a good 30 minutes to get from the airport, and a bit longer to negotiate the morning traffic the following day, the hotel being situated in the Miraflores district, on a side street, albeit not far from the ocean. Attention at the front desk was very courteous and efficient. One gets the impression (i.e. location, arquitecture) that the hotel had been standing for some time, and was bought and refurbished within limitations. The rooms l stayed in (both times) had all the ammenities, and the beds were extremely comfortable. This second time, l opted for dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was an experience in itself. As the hotel website describes, 'explore the best of peruvian cuisine and the atmosphere surrounding it, in an authentic and sophisticated restaurant', is true to the word. The buffet was an excellent choice, and the 'full folklore show with dances, songs and typical music from the coast' was a colorful experience in itself. l slept very well, and skipped breakfast, as l still had the morning rush hour ahead. Check-out time was minimal, and efficiency was upmost. All-in-all, a good choice, priced a little on the high side, taking into consideration, however, that there is a 10% service tax applied to consumption and lodging, and an additional 19% sales tax on any consumption. All-in-all, the one night stay came to USD 248. One must bear in mind, however, that the cab ride to and from the airport is around USD 25 each way, which isn't bad.

The hotel is very conveniently located in Miraflores and in walking distance to the Larcomar shopping center (1,7 km). Although located near to the main streets of Miraflores, the rooms are very quiet.
Although my reservation had gone lost for unknown reasons, the check-in was rather efficient and the staff very friendly.

The gym is a fully equipped fitness-center offering everything you need.
Breakfast is good, but not overwhelming.

We loved our stay at the Doubletree El Pardo. It is situated in one of the better areas of Lima at Miraflores and the main shopping precinct was an easy 10 minute walk away with the sea-front and big shopping mall 15 minutes further.

We found the rooms to be very spacious and immaculately kept with everything we could possibly want. The staff were attentive and the breakfast was more than adequate.

In short, we thought this Hotel was a class act and would certainly recommend it to anyone staying in Lima for a few days.

Oh, how I love the Doubletree!! I’ve stayed at this Doubletree on two occasions: for two nights in April 2010 and for one night in October 2010. Each time I’ve stayed at the hotel, I’ve been blown away by the excellent staff and warm hospitality. The staff really goes out of their way to make you feel at home. On my second stay at the hotel I walked into the room to find a plate of treats sitting on the desk with a nice “welcome back” card. When I asked the front desk if I could have a late checkout because of my extremely late return flight, they graciously accommodated my request.

The hotel is everything that one would want in a hotel: clean, well-located, great staff, comfortable beds, and nice, large rooms! There's even complimentary wi-fi! The hotel is right off of Avenida Jose Pardo, about 7 blocks from Larcomar and the beach, about 6 blocks from Huaca Pucllana, 4 blocks from the Indian Markets, and 2 blocks from a grocery store (Vivando). Almost everything is within walking distance to the hotel, and if it’s not within walking distance you can catch a very inexpensive taxi.

If I ever return to Lima (which I’m sure I will) I will definitely stay at the Doubletree again!

Stayed past 2 nights at Hilton Doubletree based on recommendation of travel agent.
+
-large room
-clean
-hilton beds
-excellent conceirge

-
-old hotel in need of renovation
-no heat. Not broken, just don't have. Temperate climate but our room was cold. Hotel solution a very noisy portable heater
-bath window would not completely close, leading to street noise and cold. Solution is to shut off bathroom to reduce noise and suffer very cold room and decide between cold or noise in bedroom

ON balance not a bad hotel, just not sure under what conditions (free Hilton rewards stay?) that I would recommend.
