This hotel is in the San Isidro section of Peru. It is right next to a great park which used to be an olive plantation. The room was very clean, very modern, with a well stocked refrigerator. The hotel workers were very helpful, I'd say the day shift workers had a little better command of English , but everyone was very nice. The breakfast was good, with great french toast and they would cook eggs to order. They arranged a great dinner show at Junios for my wife and I. Good flat screen TV with over a hundred channels, probably 20 in English. This was our first time in S America and the 3 days we spent in Lima at this hotel set the tone for a great vacation.

Nestled off the main drag on a quiet street (IMPORTANT in Lima) next to an old olive orchard (now city park). My room was large - room for 2 queen size beds, a sitting area with a table to work on. Good quality flat screen tv with satellite connection. The room was well appointed and well taken care of. The neighborhood is nice for walking, finding restaurants, and there's a supermarket a few blocks away. The only negative: service in the restaurant (I only ate breakfast there) was terrible.

Room Tip: This is one of the best values in Lima for the $150 price range - and this comes from experience, I travel there several times a year and used to live there.

This is a pleasant, well-maintained hotel, well located across from the delightful park known as the Olive Grove (with centuries-old olive trees), a welcome green oasis in the middle of a hectic/chaotic city. The staff seemed particularly friendly. Our room was spacious and quiet (as we requested). The bed was top quality. And the bathroom was great. A plus is that there are 2 good restaurants in the hotel - El Olivar, on the ground floor (where a good buffet breakfast is also served), and Ichi Ban, one of the best Japanese restaurants in Lima, in the lower level. (Curiously, it is not advertised, but it's worth seeking out!)

The roof top pool is pleasant (although shallow), offering views over the Olive Grove park.

This Sonesta hotel is a category up from their one in Arequipa (which also has a great location, but I'd rate at 3 stars, vs. 4 stars for this one.)

I've been several times to this hotel and have remained loyal to it. The facilities are quite goods, rooms are ample and comfortable and it has a good restaurant at reasonable prices. Breakfast is a first class buffet type. Location is great, in the middle of San Isidro and in front of an old park with very old olive trees, in a quiet area, and with access to downtown Lima by taxi. Plenty of restaurants and shops around, and at walking distamnce from San Isidro Golf Club. A very good choice in Lima.

Room Tip: Better to chose a room oriented opposite to the street, although even these are not noisy.
