This is our second visit to Las Palmas. I would stay here again. The staff has been very friendly and ready to serve. The WI-FI is very poor in guest rooms and probably needs major upgrade. Breakfast was normal for Lima hotel.

Hotel located in Miraflores area, which is "touristic" area of Lima city. Shops, restaurants, cafes, Starbucks, park, Chocolate Museum - everything is in walking distance. Hotel is clean, breakfast is good (eggs, juice, coffee, bread, jam). No AC, just the fan. The walls thin, but our neighbors were quiet. Acceptable price for clean bed, hot shower and breakfast.

Room Tip: if you need non-smoking room, say it first. They aren't checking room reservation notes.

The room my friend and I were put in was overlooking the bar/club street of Miraflores. It was unbelievably loud at night. On Thursdays the noise would go to 1am, on Fridays 3am. Also it's quite a busy road outside the hotel (because of the bars) so there is constant honking.

The big mistake we made was to book a hotel with no a/c. We had to keep the fan on with the window open which added to the noise level.

At the very last minute we needed to extend our stay a day and the staff were quick to accomodate us.
It was also nice that every hotel staff spoke a certain amout of English.

I stayed at Hotel Las Palmas for a week in November. It is a great location only one block from Kennedy Park in Miraflores neighborhood of Lima. I like the restaurants and the shops in this area. It is a bit close to the restaurant areas where there's plenty of noise in the evening. If you stay there look for a room that is off the street or ask for a quiet room. The showers were great with very good hot water – something important for Lima climate. I like the individual shampoo packets that they give you every day. The beds must be kind of old and they were a bit soft. The Internet connection worked fine.the breakfast in the morning was okay for a complimentary breakfast, nothing fancy, but good coffee and fruit. This is a 3 star hotel, so you get what you pay for. Other hotels in this area are very expensive. I consider this a decent bargain.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room away from the street below.

This is a horrible dump. Smelly, noisy, unpleasant. Unfriendly, unresponsive staff. And what's so great about Miraflores?

Breakfast was the biggest joke I've ever seen in a hotel (apart from Fawlty Towers) - a sign warned that we'd be fined USD$5 if we left any food on our plates. Well, there was no risk of that because the buffet consisted of a handful of bacon bits in one bowl and a handful of nasty looking scrambled egg in another. And that was it - no bread, cereals or other breakfast staples.

We were out of there quick smart - off to the Atton which, while more expensive, is much better value if you need a hotel in Lima.

The 3 star Hotel Las Palmas is located in Miraflores, a few steps away from Calle de Las Pizzas and Kennedy Park. It is a short walk to the local church and handicraft shops as well as the main shopping centre of this beachside suburb of Lima.
On arrival at the hotel check in was swift but the hotel requested payment in advance for our stay. We were permitted to view our rooms before accepting them and making payment.
As there was building work taking place across the road from the hotel the receptionist suggested that guests should opt for an inside room.
The exterior of the hotel appears to have been recently painted. However the reception area looked a little worse for the wear with dirty carpets and well-worn chairs and a lounge. The rooms were fine.
The room was clean, had a double bed and two bedside tables. There was a flat screen TV and a fan in the room. There was no heater, in room safe or mini bar.
The bathroom had a shower but no bath tub. The sanitary fittings looked new. The bathroom was well provisioned with a hair dryer, 2 soaps and 2 sachets of shampoo. The two towels, white originally, had a grey look about them but were clean. Initially the shower arm did not function properly. On mentioning this to the front office they phoned the engineering department and by the time I got back to my room an engineer was waiting outside the door to fix it. He did by replacing the arm and the shower worked perfectly after that.
Free Wi Fi was available in the hotel and there were two hotel computers in the dining room which could be used by guests free of charge.
A buffet breakfast was provided in the room rate. It seemed that eggs and bacon were provided one day and on alternate days fruit was substituted for the cooked products. Nevertheless there was sufficient food to overcome the pangs of hunger.
My room was extremely cold and when I mentioned this to the receptionist she agreed that the whole hotel was cold and indicated that she had a blanket over her lap to keep her warm while attending to reception.
Although the hotel offered laundry service it was recommended that the laundry a little way away from the hotel be used. It had a two hour turnaround time. A second option was to use the do it yourself laundry across the road.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. They gave suggestions on places to see, arranged taxis and on a map indicated where ATMs and Money Changers could be found.
Nearby the hotel were many restaurants and bars and the hotel was well positioned to take advantage of the vibrant night life of Miraflores.
The hotel’s location, reasonable rates, clean rooms and friendly staff makes it an ideal place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for an inside room to avoid noise from building site.

I would give this three and a half stars if I could. The location is excellent, very close to Parque Kennedy and all the shops, restaurants etc but away from the noise and bustle. We stayed here twice and both rooms were fine with reasonable beds, good wifi, plenty of TV channels. Breakfast wasn't up to much. They got us a taxi to the airport at 4am with no drama at a fair price.
Perfectly acceptable for the price.
