“Beauty and excellence by Mario Testino in MATE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2014

Mario Testino's Museum, or rather exhibition gallery, is located in a restored, Republican house in Lima's home to many local artists, Barranco district. Even though MATE opened recently to the public it already has found a privileged place in the local art circuit. MATE is home of Testino's work, where it is often exhibited as a permanent collection, but the gallery also presents works of Mario's personal collection or world-class exhibitions by other artists. It is well worth a visit.

“Good but limited photographs”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

I really enjoyed going here. The building itself is really lovely as well as the photographs. The gallery only has a handful of photographs in it to illustrate Testino's work, about 30 in all, which isn't a great amount, however they are still worth seeing. The photographs are beautiful, but they seemed to have picked the most obvious ones. There was a room of beautiful photographs of Peruvian people which were very colourful, again there were only about 6 of them. The cafe was also a lovely place to have a drink and a bite to eat.

“A must seen at your next trip in Lima”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

It a small pearl in the city of Lima. Located in the boheme, romantic and exiting dictricts of Lima, Barranco. This museum shows the Artwork of Mario Testino. Why would he open a Museum here? He's peruvian! In here you will be able to see not only his artwork, some of the Artwork, you would only see in the most famous contemporary Art museums of the world.
I can just recommend it!
