“Nice quiet hotel”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

Hotel was nice we had a relatively quiet room to back of hotel on ground floor. Staff friendly ,breakfast was simple and adequate. Wifi could only connect in foyer of hotel. Mirraflores is a safe and clean area of Lima.

Not a bad little hotel well situated in Miraflores with some very helpful staff (Jessica) but it was all ruined on the last day when we were checking out. We arranged to have breakfast at 5:00 AM prior to our pickup but they didn't have anything ready so we asked to swap the extra breakfast we paid for upon arrival. This is where the drama began... there was no one that had the authority to make a decision on 44 Soles which is about $18 and an argument over such a trivial amount ruined our entire experience. It's incredible that a hotel does not have anyone working in it that can make a decision on such a small amount of money, anyway in the end we got our money but it left a sour taste in my mouth! Showers are way to small and leak all over bathroom floor.

Thanks for your feedback. Sorry for the misunderstanding. The day of your arrival we charged the breakfast you ate, since breakfast is included for the following day of the check in. Sunflowers Hotel serves breakfast from 6:30 am and provide a courtesy coffe station and toasts for passengers leaving the hotel before this time. I hope this information clarifies what happened.
We will reinforce our communication with guests and travel agencies to avoid this situations.

We spent three nights at Girasoles, which was a convenient base to explore Miraflores and Barranco on foot. The rooms were very clean and functional, the staff helpful when prompted, but there was no particular atmosphere in that hotel. It looked like a business hotel without the usual amenities.

During my business trip to Lima, my colleague booked Girasoles Hotel for me. I must say it was nice, convenient and clean hotel. It serves all the necessary facilities, such as WI-FI internet access, daily use toiletries, safe storage and many more facilities. Hotel cleaning staff daily cleans your room and change toiletries daily, so that we can use hygienic products. They attentively take care of our luggage and our requirements. Rooms of the hotel are spacious and clean offering comfort and coziness. The warm and welcoming nature of the staff is what flattered us. They know how to interact with customers and make their stay comfortable and relaxed. I am completely satisfied by their quality services, room management and location of hotel. I did not find any flaw in their services, therefore, I recommend people to stay in this hotel if you want luxurious and comfortable stay.

Spent two nights at this hotel - the staff was very attentive at all times. Ten days later I returned to Lima and they even held my luggage for me while I toured the city before heading back to the airport.

The complimentary breakfast was reasonable...I wouldn't go crazy over it.

Would definitely recommend as an economical option.

We spent 4 nights at the Girasoles Hotel and we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We liked the fact the hotel wasn't filled with only Americans. The food was very good and affordable. Our room was clean and comfortable. A great place to stay and a great value for your dollar.

We arrived at this hotel at about 08:30 am and were able to check-in as our travel agency had made arrangements for us.

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We asked on numerous occasions for them to help us make phone calls to make reservations at restaurants and inquire about tourist destinations.

We were given Room #302 which overlooks the main road. If you are a very light sleeper, I suggest asking for something that is at the back because the windows probably have a R value of 1 and sound comes in quite easily.

Regardless, we took a nap and slept pretty soundly, the redeye flight was a killer. At night, most of the sound dies down, but there's the occasional honker. People in Lima drive very aggressively and within inches of each other. Pedestrians beware.

The room's walls are stark, we had a double size bed, computer monitor sized television, a small desk and 2 chairs. I bottle of water, drying rack, hairdryer, one large towel, one hand towel - they might not have known we were two people? We went out after for lunch and upon return, there was another set.

It's a shower stall in the washroom, no tub and a small window to let out the humidity into. The large closet has a safe.

This hotel along with some others all seem to have a similar layout design where there is a open central atrium instead of a hallway. This gives it an airy feel and lots of bird calls during the day.

The Wi-Fi signal felt reliable with an okay speed on our iPad2 and iPhone4s.

The room is equipped with an LG heater/air conditioner which was mounted on the wall and not noisy. We put on the heating and the room was warmed quickly. You may find that an ac/heater is a luxury in Peru, none of the other hotels we went to had one.

Breakfast was adequate, nothing to brag about.

I was told phone calls were 40 centurions / minute, I made 4 one minute calls and somehow I got charged S$9.60 (which should be 24 minutes of talk time), don't make calls from your room or get a SIM for your cell phone after you land at the airport if you plan on making phone calls.

The hotel is not the closest to the downtown area, but close enough to get to the water within a half an hour walk or so, depending on your speed.
