We stayed here for one night. Room was quite spartan and the shower pretty poor. There is no food at the hotel other than breakfast which isn't the greatest when you arrive on a late flight. Breakfast was ok but nothing special, we had many better ones in Peru. It has nice grounds that go down the cliff. There is a pool but didn't look that inviting. Barranco is a nice quiet area. It was fine staying here for a night but wouldn't make it longer.

It's not every day or ever that you get to stay in the home of an incredible artist. This place is magic. We felt so lucky to be able to have the opportunity to stay at Victor Defins home. His daughter, Lillian and her staff went above and beyond as well.

Very rarely do you get to stay in someone's home, here is a beautiful oasis of calm friendliness in the frenetic, dispersed and chaotic city of Lima. The home of a true artist who's family run the hotel, there are beautiful and unique works of art at every turn. Several of the rooms have ocean views with many restaurants nearby, and eclectic housing showing grandeur of the past. If you are considering staying in Lima please don't look any further than this beautiful home of Victor Delfin

It is a wonderful eclectic home with beautiful ocean views. Hidden away off the beaten path so you get a feel for the neighborhood. The staff is very attentive (including the 2 dogs and 3 cats), the breakfast are filling and a great price!

I would advise anyone who loves an interesting, one-of-a-kind experience to stay at Second Home. Victor Delfin's art is fantastic and you will see fantastic painting, sculpture, found object art, artifacts and absolutely beautiful views. We had rooms on the second floor with a balcony open to the ocean and garden views. The rooms themselves are simple and clean but you won't find sparkling bathrooms are luxurious bedding. We felt comfortable hanging out all over the property and they were happy to store some groceries for us in the fridge. If you are looking to do many things in Lima, this is far too out of the way and the traffic is horrendous. Our white knuckle taxi ride to the airport took an hour and half (40 mins on a Sunday). It was perfect for us at the end of our stay to just relax and enjoy the property. There are several excellent restaurants nearby but it is a stretch to call this an arts district. There are a handful of galleries but nothing incredibly special. We really enjoyed meeting S. Delfin on our last morning. I only wish they had some prints or some of his work since the originals were out of our price range. If someone asked you if you wanted to stay at Marc Chagall's house would you jump at the chance? Then don't miss Second Home Peru!

Room tip: stay in the main house, second floor rooms had nice views
