We were looking for Chifa in central Lima and came here based on some positive reviews. Don't be fooled. Bad atmosphere and awful food.
We arrived in the evening and walked directly upstairs to try and sit in the main restaurant. We were told that we couldn't sit here and were ushered downstairs to a table next to the owner who was already eating with a member of staff. They didn't bother turning off or indeed turning down the television so we were treated to a documentary on how Bin Laden was killed whilst eating our terrible food. We also sat in view of the dipping sauces being poured from used soft drink bottles that were left on a counter without a lid on.
The whole restaurant was cold, so we kept our jackets on as we waited for noodles, a beef dish and dumplings. The noodles arrived first with chicken. The noodles were not cooked, still crunchy and raw. We sent them back. The beef was chewy and covered in a weird sweet sauce that we didn't order. The dim sum turned up last as the rest of the food was almost cold. Usually I'd expect baskets but this was just a platter and some of the dumplings were unravelling.
