The atmosphere here was business like and formal. Food was obviously in the creative sphere and represents something different and rare to find. We were not blown away by the tastes, but tried combinations we've never seen before. Many say that this restaurant does thing more complicated than they should. That may be so if you judge it in professional/gastronomical terms. To us mere travellers wanting to see new fascinating restaurant we really liked it. If the place could adopt a lighter atmosphere among their waiters this might go better along with the food. The atmosphere and "dress code" invites to fine dining. The food that comes on your plate almost invites you to dance...!

Food was great but given the restaurants reputation I expected to be totally blow away. The sauce for the grilled octopus starter was great. Octopus itself was slightly over cooked. My entree was excellent. Worth your time and money. Fine dining on an international scale

Interesting food but over fussy and over thought through - a simpler approach with the same good and interesting ingredients would be better. I felt the chef was more concerned about being clever than cooking delicious food. Although the decor is attractive in theory, it all adds up to a slightly dark and gloomy atmosphere. It is not a bad restaurant or bad food by any means, but it doesn't live up to the billing as a top 100 San pellegrino restaurant, nor to its very high price. I much preferred Rafael in miraflores.

Malabar creates fun creative dishes that are fun to share. The food is good but with small portions. We went as a table of six and my friend did all of the ordering, we dined family style to sample a little bit of everything, which I would recommend.

We tried making a reservation through the Atton concierge and we were told the restaurant was full. We went there anyway and got seated. The restaurant never reached full capacity. So either they dont like the Atton concierge or the reservation system doesnt work. Either way, I recommend that in general if you are staying at the Atton, dont try and get a reservation through the hotel. Call directly.
The restaurant is ok, nothing to look at. The service is friendly and good. The place is quiet. The only reason for the top rating is the excellent food. The cabrito was spectacular. Good wine list. The desserts were below average.
