An oasis. Gabriel & Bryan were so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed including safe transport.

My husband and I stayed there for 3 nights on our honeymoon. They had flowers in our room to celebrate our honeymoon! The garden is beautiful with views of the surrounding hillsides.

We decided not to stay in Aguas Calientes because it is pretty cheesy and touristy. That meant that we had a long day with an early taxi ride to the train station (1.5 hour taxi ride) and a late return. But Bryan had breakfast for as 4:30am. The disadvantage of making only a day trip to Machu Picchu is that you won't get there until 9 or 10am. Stay in Aguas Calientes if you want to get to the gates early and hike Wayna Picchu. and then stay at the Green House the next day. It was easy and cheap to hop on a local bus and get to Pisac for the Sunday market.

It is off the beaten path, so you will need to know how to get there and speak a little bit of Spanish. We had some trouble getting from Cusco because we were not certain where to get the bus and what bus to take. The Green House is between Urubamba and Calca. If you take the bus, take the bus to Pisac, Calca or Urubamba. If you take the bus to Pisac or Calca, you will have to catch another bus towards Urubamba. Tell the driver to let you off in Huaran near the school (it is very close to Calca). We could not figure it out and eventually just took a taxi. You should be able to speak at least a little Spanish. You should make sure you have enough cash with you. There was an ATM in Pisac but the two ATMs in Aguas Calientes were not working when we were there.

There are apparantly two restaurants nearby but they were closed when we were there. We bought ingredients for sandwiches at a little shop just down the road one night. For a little more money, we ate dinner at the Green House one night. Gabriel makes the best food and homemade dessert. It was delicious.

I would definitely recommend this place. Serene and beautiful and friendly and doggies:)

Wish I were there right now...

I travelled with my 18 year old son and decided to make this our first stop in the Sacred Valley. All the reviews couldn't really prepare us for the beauty and tranquillity of the location and the warmth of Bryan and Gabriel. And it wasn't just the gratitude for the teabags I'd brought, either!! It has all been said in previous reviews, but seeing hummingbirds in the garden was a very special experience, as was stargazing, lying on the hammock. The waterfall excursion with Laika was awesome, too, but do come back the same way you go - we took a wrong turning and ended up beating our way through spiny bushes! Meditating with Bryan and his friend at 0600 is also something I will never forget. I will see you guys again, not sure when, but soooon! With gratitude...

We found out about the Green House while preparing for our trip to the Sacred Valley this past July and early August, and we booked three nights there.

Our only disappointment? That we didn't get a chance to spend more time on the peaceful and sunny grounds. The superlatives are right on... it was a little bit of an adventure getting to Machu Picchu from Huaran (think early start taking the colectivos and an adventure of a late-taxi return), but definitely doable. Perfect for our day trip visit to Ollantaytambo. And the bright stars of the southern hemisphere in the evenings? Incredible.

Highlight? Taking one of the dogs Laika (or rather, Laika taking us) out to the local waterfall one morning and talking to local campesinos along the way. You can read more and find pictures of our visit here:

I traveled with my 23 year old son to Peru, first stop Cusco and after a couple of days headed to the Valley and stayed at the Inn, we regret not starting from Huaran at this lovely Inn!! We ended up staying longer than planned, the place is amazing, very relaxing, easy to catch a bus or taxi to Pisac, Ollantataybo, Urubamba, Maras, Moray, and head to Machu Picchu from here is the best option. You will spend less time on the road and enjoy your stay a lot more!!!
Brian and Gabriel are such great guys, and make you feel very cozy, and also give great tips of the buses for getting around the Valley or call a taxi for you.
The food: best we had in Peru!! Gabriel is a wonderful chef!!!!!!! The rooms are beautiful, beds are very comfortable, the garden, the fireplace at night.... just great, even more beautiful than in pictures!
Highly recommend making your base in the Valley, and staying here. Another reason for starting from here is that the Valley is much lower than Cuzco and you will not feel altitude sickness (or at least not as bad as in Cuzco!).
it´s a unique gem in the Valley.

We will never forget the excellent hospitality of Bryan and Gabriel. This has to be the best place to stay in the sacred valley. Get away from the tourist traps and really experience Peru. Don't worry about tourist buses...just talk to Bryan and Gabriel and they will tell you how to get a ride for next to nicks on the local combi buses...chickens, guinea pigs and all. This is an idyllic place and Bray and Gabriel have captured the moment here. Don't stay anywhere else...you will regret it.

From the moment we arrived at the Green House I knew that my husband had made the right choice by insisting to stay there, even though I hadn’t been too enthusiastic at first. Bryan and Gabriel are amazing hosts who prioritize guests’ comfort and happiness. Their care and love taught me how I should be as a human being. I will never forget the kindness they shared with us.

As a Buddhist, I felt this place was like a piece of the Buddha’s land of tranquil light. A colourful flower garden with a neat lawn, surrounded by waved wall overlooked by gorgeous mountains.

The Green House building itself has a beautiful design. Our room was quite spacious, clean, and very comfortable with a huge bed. We loved the hot water bag found under the blanket to keep us warm. The three course dinner as well as the breakfast were very tasty and presented with fantastic service and warm smiles.

The Green House is the best accommodation I’ve stayed at in my travelling life. I’m glad that the Patrick and Ayrlie from Canada who we met at the Temple of the Moon Picchu followed our recommendation and also stayed at the Green House. Every morning when we have coffee in the special cups we bought at the Green House we think back and send our heartfelt appreciation.

Love, Tomoko and Holger from Sydney, Australia
