“Lovely Setting for a Meal”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Our first lunch in the Sacred Valley was at the Mijuna Wasi. The rustic but bright restaurant is on the beautiful grounds of the Hotel Pakaritampu in the town of Ollantaytambo. Just walking around the gardens and enjoying the flowers and birds sets the tone for a relaxed experience.
Mijuna Wasi has an interesting selection of Peuvian and International dishes. I had the alpaca for the first and last time in my life. It was really okay but there are tastier meats available. My husband had the trout which he was happy with. Our sides were very good especially the avocado salad.
The service was attentive and friendly.

“Average food.”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

We had travelled all day and had gone to many different ruins, so we just wanted to have dinner at the hotel. The hotel was good but the food might need some improvement.

“We enjoyed our meal here”
Reviewed 20 June 2013

We passed by this property (Hotel Pakaritampu) a couple of times between our hotel at the train station and our way into town. We finally wandered in and thought it was lovely. We checked out the menu at the restaurant and decided to go back one night. We did, and I was surprised that there was just one other couple there, who soon left. I don't know why they don't have more business. The meal was fine. Sometimes when you are the only ones there, service gets slower, and that was the case. It was a nice night though.

“One of our best meals in Peru”
Reviewed 29 November 2012

We stayed at the hotel and decided to have dinner here on our second night based on the menu and our tour book’s description of it as the best restaurant in town. The service was very good and all of our food was excellent. The avocado starter was unique and so tasty. The breadbasket was also good. I had the garlic sauce trout and my fiancé had one of the chicken dishes (Chicken Andina). Even the vegetables with the dishes were tasty. The trout was nice, though I probably wouldn’t get the garlic sauce on it again. Overall, this was a very tasty and convenient restaurant.

“Good food, beautiful location”
Reviewed 6 October 2012

We ate here twice while staying at the hotel for two nights. After touring the Sacred Valley all day, we were happy to stay close to our room.

On our first night, we had a drink at the bar on the second floor, then ate dinner at the restaurant. They had a decent slection on the menu, everything from soups and salads, burgers and pizza to local specialties like trout, alpaca and cuy. I had the trout dinner with quinoa risotta which was excellent, and huge portions. Hubby had alpaca with pepper sauce, which was okay but the pepper sauce overwhelmed the alpaca flavour. Second night we had a chicken dish that was also good.

Prices were reasonable for huge portions of food, and it was convenient to add it to our room tab and pay by credit card at check-out.
