“Good Side Hike In Machu Picchu”
Review of Inca Bridge

I liked this 35 minute hike to the Inca Bridge because it was basically flat and shady compared to the hilly sunny other parts of the Machu Picchu complex. Less people and scenery was lush and tropical. Bridge was ok, you can't cross it but it does look like something out of "Middle Earth" :). We ended our day here so it was nice to have some quiet and to cool down.

It's a small bridge walking distance from the plaza, nothing historic like its name suggested, it's like a typically built bridge over the river, there are local house nearby.

There was a 20 minute hike along a fairly narrow path uphill, but it wasn't steep. The view of the Inca Bridge was worth the hike, and many views from the path along the way were stunning.

The stroll over to the Inca Bridge from the main site at Machu Picchu is well worth it. It is not a difficult walk, especially compared to the hike up Huayna Picchu. If you fancy a quiet hour away from the crowds at Machu Picchu sign up at the gate and take a walk along the rocky path towards the bridge. The path is comfortably wide enough once it comes out of the trees, with a short wall on the exposed side in most places. There is splendid view of the Urubamba River in it's deep gorge. The bridge is an ingenious defence for the citadel, just look out for the alternative cantilevered steps below the bridge. Although the path stops well short of the bridge it does give you a great view of the bridge,
