This was a great trek. Hard to find as there are few signposts and it is not easy to know how to begin. But the trail begins not far from the main square, directions will be given by any locals once the goal is requested or even pointed to. I have some altitude sickness so took it very slowly, and we stayed up at the top to admire the view and ambiance, but still spent only a couple of hours in total up and back. No charge for Pinkuylluna. It is quite steep in places, and good shoes will help. We regretted carrying water bottles as in a few spots we wanted to grasp as we climbed. It was very quiet, we only saw 5 other groups the whole time, on the Tuesday afternoon we did it beginning at perhaps 2:30 or so. Great view of the town and the Ollantaytambo temple opposite.

Start easy to fund. Quite steep. Poor path. Numerous forks so hard to navigate. Signs are non-existent in areas and insdequate in others. Remember at this elevation recovery time from climbing is longer than at sea level.

These ruins of the Inca granaries are high up on Pinkuylluna, the mountain on the opposite side of the valley to the Ollantaytambo temple. The path is rugged and exposed in parts but perfectly climbable in normal walking gear and takes about an hour at an easy pace. The view over the valley from the ruins is stupendous.

This ruin overlooking the main ruin of Ollanta is vigorous walk, but well worth the views and solitude. We did the trek at sunset time, and had breathtaking views, and some musical accompaniment of a impromptu performance of percussion and reed flute, about midway up the trail.

The Inca people were accomplished scientists figuring out structures, air flow and and other considerations to store food to fee their people during famines is needed.
