“Fantastic little sanctuary!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

The staff here were fantastic, albeit mostly volunteers with the ability to speak english. The lodge is located a short walk from the main square (~2 minutes) and the gardens are just amazing. Relaxing on one of the many hammocks and surveying the plant life is very relaxing and there is a nice fire pit for once the hot peruvian sun goes down.

The room I had was excellent, bed was very comfortable and with a private ensuite; plus the gas powered showers were hot every time. Breakfast consists of scrambled or fried eggs, coffee or tea and an unleavaned roll with jam / butter. There is also a lovely selection of fruits such as bananas and mandarins available; I was full and satisfied each day!

I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone, very pleasant experience!

We booked a room for this hostel for a night. On the phone they told us the price was 54 for the three of us. When we showed up it turned out that it's not 54 Soles, but 54 Dollars (three times as much). Though it is our fault not to have asked for the currency, I find it quite strange that they don't quote prices in the countrie's own currency. The room was ok. The breakfast they packed us for the next day was ok as well, but nothing special and not appropriate for the price paid.
As they gave us a massive discount for our return night after Machu Picchu two days later we reserved a room and told them we would get there late, since our train would arrive at 11:30pm. Our train had a little bit of delay, but when we rang the bell several times shortly after midnight nobody opened. We waited like 10 minutes and kept ringing the bell from time to time (we could hear the bell from outside), but finally we had to look for another accomodation (not very nice that late).

My family and I stayed at the Full Moon Lodge and we had a great time. The breakfast was ample and the accommodation was central enough that we could walk everywhere. My kids enjoyed hanging out in the yard and we are definitely planning on going back.

This was a beautiful place to stay, not only because of the view but also because Vilma and her family were warm and friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious for the price, Vilma makes a delicious breakfast (ours was from her own chicken's just-collected eggs), and in the evening when you come home tired from your hikes, Elder sets up a campfire. The showers were comfortably warm. Bring towels and soap (one reviewer wrote the towels were fluffy, but ours were quite small). We even fell in love with the kids. Be advised: at times youth groups stay in the yard in tents. They were no problem for us, as they were friendly and not overly loud. It was just a surprise when we arrived late at night. Also, the place is hard to find and our taxi left us in the middle of town in the dark. From the main square, find the "typical Peruvian market" and follow that street to its end. Turn right and go to the end. The inn is at the end of the street through a beautiful garden gate.

Staying at this lodge was great in that they made you a delicious breakfast every morning! The courtyard was very nice place to relax (although, there were so many things to do in Sacred valley that we didnt have much time to hang out!). Our room was okay. I didnt like the ceiling very much and it got pretty cold at night. The shower rarely got warm, so often times, my boyfriend and I would be having frisky quick showers. We booked a double room and we had to stack multiple comforters from the other bed to make it comfortable enough to sleep! The mattress was completely shot! We met some nice people while we were staying there, so that made it worth staying at!

Room Tip: I heard the dormitory is good. Dont book the double room. Pictures are deceiving because of the angl...

a lovely place. from the outside it looked awful but once you get through the doorway the view is breath taking. the rooms were very clean, fluffy towels, we had the quad room and a single room, both spacious and comfortable. no tv or wifi but it was what our family needed to prepare for the journey to Machu Picchu. the staff is friendly, helpful and the breakfast was included and delicious. i can't say about the price because it was included in our package. it is about a 10 minute walk to the train station. loved the dream catchers and the mystic sensation you feel while on the grounds. our kids did not want to leave the place, we didn't either!!!

This place was exactly what I was looking for. I was able to participate in a San Pedro ceremony and explore many ruins in the area that many tourists don't see. The lodge is comfortable, quiet and has a beautiful yard with hammocks. Elder, who runs the lodge, took me on amazing tours in the area and brought me to Quechua villages. It is a hard place to leave!
