We stayed here 1 night after visiting the Sacred Valley and before heading to Machu Picchu. The restaurant jad great offerings for dinner and we loved the breakfast (they were happy to cook eggs however we wanted it and made other foods as requested by guests). We had room #12 and free WIFI was available. Even though there was a sign stating that the water is heated via solar power, when we showered in the evening a little after sunset, we had enough hot water. The only thing we were a little unused to was that you are advised not to place toilet paper in the toilet and instead asked to place it in the waste basket to prevent the toilet from getting clogged. We visited at a time when it was cooler with less bugs but if you are visiting in a warmer time, the rooms may get a little hot (we didn't notice any A/C) and there are no screens on the windows. Otherwise, you can't beat its location inside the train station, soooooo convenient! You can basically step out about 10-15 minutes before your train without a problem.

El Albergue is an amazing hotel! Their rooms are clean, charming, and simply lovely! You must stay here on your way to Machu Picchu! Their garden is georgeous, and is the source of the fresh cut flowers that are in each room! I was very impressed with the complimentary breakfast... Dinner was also exceptional. I also loved the wood-burning sauna with fresh eucalyptus. You must check it out!!! The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Diego, the manager, was outstanding! He really knows how to make the hotel guests feel at home. Bruno, at the front desk, was also very helpful and gave our group a first-hand experience of true, Peruvian hospitality! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!! I will definitely be referring my friends and will be back to visit next time I'm in Peru!

Room Tip: The Garden Suite is phenominal! I love the garden view, fresh-cut flowers, and the hammocks are also exquisite! :)

You might be surprised to think a hotel right next to the train could be a little sanctuary but it is. This place is gorgeous. The gardens are incredibly beautiful. The rooms were very clean and beautiful. The down comforters and pillows felt like I was sleeping in a cloud. I would definitely stay here again. The food in the restaurant was some of the best I had on my whole trip. The suite is worth the extra money. No question, I would love to stay here again.

Room Tip: The extra money for a ground floor suite is well worth it, the garden is spectacular

What an amazing hotel in a perfect little town. The room (16) was lovely, with a modern bathroom, and it was very peaceful, with a deck overlooking a magical garden. The staff was beyond helpful (they arranged a car to pick us up at the Cusco airport and then another to take us through Maras back to Cusco a few days later). The restaurant was fantastic. And the location couldn't be beat if you're taking the train to Machu Picchu--it's right on the tracks! But the trains stop at night, and the back of the hotel (with the garden) was very peaceful. It's a little walk uphill to the center of town, but the road is alongside a rushing stream and it was no trouble, even on our first day in the mountains. Most highly recommended.

Room Tip: Room 16--second floor, with a big deck overlooking the garden.

We had a wonderful, rustic, and charming room with a small balcony/sitting area. There are gorgeous gardens to walk around, a eucalyptus sauna, and it is in the train station, so getting on board couldn't be easier. We had the option of eggs or a pancake for breakfast (great pancake) and felt very at home and taken care of at El Albergue Ollantaytambo. As in the title, best place we stayed at in all of the Sacred Valley!
