This hotel should be number one in Ollantaytambo. It has some of the most beautiful landscaping I have ever seen at a hotel. The rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable. Wifi is available but a little slow but it was adequate. Location is only a 5 min walk to the train station and 15 min walk into town. Service is very good. We left bags with them when we went to Machu Picchu/Agua Calientes. When we returned a few nights later, they already had our bags in the room. Great service! The best part of the hotel are the 3 alpacas that live there. They are soo darn cute!! The garden keeper had them out feeding in the garden and I was able to get close to them. Very friendly! They did not spit at all as some people think. I highly recommend the hotel.

This hotel had a lodge feel. There were several sections. From the lobby, you walk through pathways to your "lodge" which houses several rooms. The grounds were beautiful. The morning "mowing" was done by llamas. You can see the snow capped mountains. Our room was quite large with a king bed. We had a tiny table with 2 chairs. There was plenty of room for a larger table. Bathroom was big enough for 2 people at the same time. We also had a moveable room heater which we used as it was cold at night.
We had dinner here as we got in late. The restaurant was large and had nice menu. The prices were reasonable and the food was good. Breakfast was basic. Be sure to drink some coca tea!
You can leave some luggage here before taking the train to MP. Its only a short walk to the train station. Get your walking cane at the station and Negotiate!

Very clean and neat hotel a short stroll down to the railway station. It was also a longer walk uphill to the village and Inca ruins which we did on arrival. Rooms were well set out for 3 people sharing, especially with plenty of room to have luggage on racks at waist height. Breakfast was good and opened early so that we did not have to rush to catch our early train to Machu Picchu. Staff stored luggage, provided escort to the station, and retrieved our luggage the next day with no fuss and a willing attitude.

After an afternoon exploring Ollantaytambo ruins and a walk up to the main square, we found the beautiful hillside gardens a lovely haven off the narrowish main road from the town to the railway station. It was reassuring to know that our early train the next morning was such a short walk from the hotel. Our room was quite dark but comfortable. As it was October but not yet very cold, we wondered how room temperature was controlled during summer and winter because there seemed to be no fixed heating or cooling fixtures. Bathroom toiletries on our single night were just adequate. On arrival, we booked an early morning wakeup call which was not provided. When asked why this didn't happen, there was no response from the staff.
We decided not to walk back up to the main town square for dinner and found the hotel meal was adequate. A very early morning breakfast choices were quite basic: perhaps not all the food was yet displayed at opening time. The hotel is exceptionally convenient for the train station to take travellers to Machu Picchu or back towards Cusco. This review may sound less enthusiastic than some others on this website. Perhaps the beautiful exterior surrounds of the accommodation promised something more exciting within the walls and food service. This is certainly an adequate short-term stay between famous sights in this part of Peru.

This hotel is stunning. There are beautiful grounds and gardens as well as views into the surrounding mountains. The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the train station, and a ten minute walk from the main square. The hotel grounds are very large so the street noise does not intrude into the grounds. The rooms themselves are nothing special. They are reasonably sized, clean and comfortable, but they were about as nice as a Holiday Inn Express. For the money I expected a little more glitz.

Room Tip: There are no elevators, so if you do not want to climb stairs, ask for a room on the ground floor.

Our stay here was perfect for the pre-days of our Inca Trail camping/trekking tour. We had 3 of us in the room, 3 beds, lots of room and very comfortable! Breakfast was included and the selection was plenty, lots of fresh fruit and local fair.

Room Tip: Nothing to add here, I think any of the rooms would be perfect. There are a couple of buildings wit...

This hotel was booked by our tour operator and stayed here for one night.
It is a beautiful hotel set in superb, tranquil gardens and surrounded by stunning mountains with amazing views. The rooms were comfortable, warm and clean and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend it!
