Sauce is not a hostel but a 3* Hotel. Many rooms have direct view on Ollantaytambo Ruins and this is avery good reason to stay here. Rooms are clean and customer service perfect. The only minus is the rate as is double than other BB in the same village (you pay the view and the 3* facilities). Ollantaytambo is a beatifull village. recomended if you have the budget of 50$ (low season) or 100$ high season. The view on the ruins is unique

Stayed one night at this handy location in September 2012. Away from main square, handy to markets, eating places and the train station to Aguas Calientes. Not on side with a view of the ruins first thing in the morning..
Staff very pleasant. The main lounge/eating area was really spanish with the walls covered in the colorful traditional Peruvian woolen hats with ties.. quite a collection. My room was basic with cosy bed. However, lighting was not very good in either room or bathroom. Down side was my bathroom light shade was covered with small insects (so covered my exposed arms and legs with repellent after the odd one flew past me). The breakfast was kindly brought forward so those of us leaving early could eat before boarding the train to Machu Picchu, however, this was a disappointment. Not up to standard I had hoped for or willing to risk eating other than cornflakes and bread. A pity as this wee spot could be a real gem with a bit of effort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view to the ruins. Also take insect repellent in case needed!

We stayed for 1 night in Sauce hostal in 2010 September. The location is excellent with great views of the ruins and is very close to the entrance of the market. The manager was very courteous and gave us good service. We had slight difficulty in getting to the train station next day since the cab was late, but our manager ran around and got our cab just in time. The rooms are basic but have a nice character to them. I would go and stay there again. Ollantaytambo ruins were fantastic!

I stayed at this hotel prior to meeting our group for the Inca Trail Trek. The rooms are small, accomodations are clean, basic and comfortable. The location can't be beat. The breakfast was good. The rooms have heaters. My only complaints are that it took a long time for the hot water to work- it eventually did but I had to run the water in the shower for a long time first and the coffee could have been brewed differently- they use instant coffee

This is a very small basic Hostel \ Hotel, it was very clean, and very comfortable, Unfortunately I only had a very brief overnight stay here after a trip to the local Inca Ruins.

the food and hospitality was very good and the Small team of staff were very helpful and friendly.

The town square is a thirty second walk away and the market a two minute walk so excellent location.

I would highly recomend this hotel if you want peace and quiet
