The Apu Lodge was the perfect place to begin (and end) our stay in the Sacred Valley. We stayed five nights, and came to truly appreciate the staff and the super location.

Tucked in below ruins behind the lodge, looking out at the Inca fortress across the valley, we were stunned by the awesome view. The lodge itself was perfectly located, far enough away from the main square to provide some quiet and at the same time an easy walk to the ‘downtown’. It was especially nice to have so much outside space, with the lawn and hammocks and charming setting.

Our room was well appointed, with a comfy bed and cool balcony. Breakfast was generous and tasty, and we really appreciated all the guidebooks available (and the coca tea!).

A special thanks to Ruth and Reynaldo and Des. You made us feel at home and gave excellent advice about sights and places to eat.

Reynaldo: thank you again for the outstanding sightseeing trip en route to Cusco. You were the perfect guide, and we loved seeing your world through your eyes. Sullpayki.

Our stay at Apu Lodge made our time in Ollantaytambo comfortable and wonderful. Beautiful scenic views of the city and mountains beyond greeted us each morning. The breakfast they provide was delicious and had a good variety of fruit, granola, eggs, yogurt, fresh bread, and coffee/other hot drinks. The room was very comfortable, and the service was outstanding. I'd definitely stay here again!
The only thing to note is that it's a long walk, so if you're carrying luggage, be sure to get some help! They offer that too.

The location is amazing: near the edge of town, quiet, beautiful view, hammocks in the garden. The owners are very nice and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. The breakfast is great. I wish we had stayed here more than one night.

Room Tip: We stayed in the first floor and we could sometimes here people walking above us. It wasn't very...

Our group recently stayed at Apu Lodge for several nights, using it as our home base before and after visiting Macchu Picchu and to acclimate to the altitude upon arrival in the Andes. Staff were all friendly, knowledgable and accommodating, including Samish, the Lodge's adorable resident four-year-old. While the beds were a bit hard for my personal preference, the rooms and grounds are clean, warm, and well-maintained. The breakfast was quite good and beverages (filtered water, coca tea & coffee) are available around the clock. Wifi is available only in reception. The Lodge is located at the end of a delightful cobblestone street (too ancient & narrow for vehicles) and is safe and quiet. Highly recommend!

Apu Lodge lived up it the reviews. Had the best beds and pillows in Peru as well as bedside reading lights. The garden is beautiful with a great view. Very relaxing with hammocks to read or nap in. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

We are so pleased to have spent an entire week relaxing in Ollantaytambo and not just the requisite day or two many do on their way to and from Machu Picchu.

The lodge is spotless and well designed with FANTASTICALLY plentiful and strong hot water. …Trust me; you’ll want a good hot shower after hiking MP and climbing Wayna Picchu…which we did. The breakfast service is healthful and generous and the staff is very knowledgeable and available for nearly any reasonable request. We had a week’s worth of laundry done at the lodge (VERY reasonable) which allowed us to pack lighter for our entire 16 day trip.

Louise the very charming Scottish owner is very generous with her knowledge of the area; she even arranged to take my partner, a recently retired special education teacher to the multi lingual elementary school attended by her two beautiful daughters.

The setting, views and gardens of the lodge make the property a relaxing place to spend some quality time. The three hammocks under a palapa quickly became one of my favorite haunts at the lodge.

If you are planning to spend some time in Ollantaytambo, I have two words about Apu Lodge: STAY THERE.

Room Tip: 2nd Floor.
