“Very popular local - great service”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

An excellent restaurant with good food and wonderful service - like most restaurants in the region, all food has wheat and cheese / butter but the team worked really well to find an alternative for my wife - great atmosphere and reasonable prices.

“Delicious meal in charming setting”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

While staying at Tambo del Inka in Urubamba (which is very luxurious indeed!) we wanted to try a restaurant in the town of Urubamba. The hotel concierge recommended El Huacatay and we were very pleased with the suggestion. We started with Maracuya Sours in the garden while greeted by a friendly feline and surrounded by lovely flowers. We moved indoors for dinner as it was getting rather cool outside. Our server was attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. Four of us shared 2 appetizers, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts....everything was fabulous! One of our most enjoyable meals in the SV.

“Lovely setting, delicious food”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Lovely setting and ambience. We opted to sit inside. Service was attentive. We had crispy mushroom raviolis as an appetizer, and my husband got the chicken and chorizo gnocchi and I got the spicy trout with quinoa. Both were very good. Presentation was also nice. Highly recommend.

“good food, slow service”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

The alpaca was good, but some of our dishes were a bit salty. It is a nice setting, but bring a sweater, they leave the doors open all night. We were very disappointed about the service, especially given the size of the place, from having to ask about our drinks, waiting a long long time for our appetizers and then waiting forever for our bill, it put a little damper on the meal. It seems worth trying again perhaps.
