We stayed here within their orchard of organic fruit trees, with fresh fruit in a fruit basket every day, at the beginning and the end of our trip in Peru. The host, William, is friendly, smiling, and excellent. The food is absolutely delicious. I haven't found better food in Peru. It was mouth-watering. Excellent views all around, excellent location in town...excellency all around.

This was a much more pleasent experience than staying in a very hectic Cusco. Great food and great staff, excellent athmosphere. My advise would be one day in Cusco and 3 days in the Sacred Valley in el Huerto Paraiso.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Paraiso after completing the Inca Trail, then staying in Aquas Caliente, Ollytamtaba then here. Set out from the town of Urubamba in a small orchard, the setting is beautiful, the staff, Ruth and Juan, were extraordinarily warm and helpful. It felt like sharing an evening with a family. The room was spotless, light and comfortable. I got the best sleep of the trip. The breakfast was local coffee, local chocolate in locally produces ceramics with Incan bread jam and cheese. Delicious.
The beauty of this type of place is the feeling that you are seeing Peru with the always wonderful people of the country. This hotel is one of handful of enterprises in this area of town that are promoting Agrotourism to raise the standard of living in the area. You can also arrange to visit nearby farms that produce local coffee, chocolate, honey, ceramics, guinea pigs (cuy!) and even a local chicha beer brewer (a famous Andean drink). We highly recommend this as stopping (and staying) spot in the Sacred Valley between Cusco and Aqua Caliente. We stayed a week in this very relaxing place.
Great location to see the sacred valley.
From the hotel, youcan see the mountains everywhere.
Nice gardens with fruit trees
And the people are very special, very friendly, great food for lunch and dinners (although breakfast is just OK).
Nice village atmosphere, everybody says hello in the street.
Also, this is part of a small community so you can also visit some other places who do chocolate,coffee,ceramics,textiles,etc...
I would recommend this place as we had one of our special time in Peru...
We had occasionalproblem with the water but that was fixed very rapidly.

This place is simply amazing. The friendly atmosphere and exellent service, combinated with beautiful surroundings and wonderful food made my stay better than I ever would imagine. At El Huerto Paradise they make you feel like family, and if you need anything they are always ready to help you. If you would like, they can take you on small tours in the neightbourhood, where they show how to make artisanal chocolate, coffee, ceramiques as well as the local corn beer. Juan, the chef makes exellent andinian food, healthy and a heven for vegetarians. When I´m coming back to Sacred Valley I´m definetely staying here!

We just finished our Peru 3 weeks tour ,spending the last week in the "Huerto Pariso" ,beautiful place ,where you wake up to sound of birds in a middle of fruit trees garden ,and i must say it was our best experience in the country.
Wiliam the owner shows a remarkable example of personal service ,and after one day only ,i felt realy at home.
He has vast knowledge of the area and he is promoting the local rural tourism ,and helped us a lot knowing the surrounding areas ,which are amazingly beautiful ,and off the beaten track.
Rooms are simple ,but very clean ,and surley gives a very fair value for what you pay.
Breakfast is very good ,with freshley juice made upon request (Orange ,pineapple ,papaya) ,lunch and dinner are also avilable and where realy good and in very reasonable price.
I truley recommand this place!!!

We just returned home from a two week vacation in Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. The highlight of our accomodations was our three night stay at El Huerto Paraiso Sacred Valley Lodge. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, William, who generously shared his time showing us around his hometown of Urubamba. He spent two afternoons taking us to local Inca ruins, terraces, roads and irrigation canals. He showed us how the local people are still using the terraces and canals for farming and taught us about local customs and ways of living. It was like a real-life living museum. William helped us arrange transportation to fit all of our needs and even picked up our train tickets to Machu Picchu for us (far beyond our expectations and a big help). Juan (the chef) and William taught us about Peruvian food with the delicious meals they prepared from organic local produce. The rooms and main house are well-maintained and immaculate. It is a clean, comfortable, safe, warm and friendly base to explore the many ruins and sites in the Sacred Valley. The views from the rooms are of the surrounding Andes Mountains. The whole experience was great and we highly recommend Paraiso for travelers who want to learn about and experience Incan and Peruvian culture on their trip to Peru.
