“Amazing Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2012

We had less than 24 hours in this hotel, our first in Peru, and were so disappointed we couldn't enjoy more of the amenities which included a culinary kitchen, cinema, library, spa, church, peacock reserve, sprawling grounds-you name it.

With the backdrop of the mountains it truly was majestic.

What I can share is our experience with staff, the service, and room.

Room
Beautiful, great tub that was welcome after 3 flights from California. All of the amenities to make the space feel like home. The one weird thing I'll note (and it was in other hotels in Peru) was a lack of clocks in the room.

Service
We arrived at the hotel at 4 p.m. and would be leaving the next morning at 2:30 a.m. to catch our ride to hike to Machu Picchu. So, we had our wake up call at 2 a.m. Since we were going to miss our included breakfast, they prepared a little box breakfast for us to take on the ride-a ham and cheese sandwich, apples, crackers, water, etc.

Staff
Very much willing to serve and help make the experience positive.

We truly wish we could have enjoyed this hotel more. It was GORGEOUS.

My husband and I spent 3 nights in sacred valley. It was part of a Groupon package I purchased. When we arrived we were amazed at the spacious layout of the resort. There wasn't a lot of guest from what we could tell but then realized everyone was on a different schedule with tours, etc. We had a deluxe room which was very on par with boutique hotels.
The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I couldn't make a move without someone offering to assist. Note. If you ask for water at any of the restaurants they will sell you bottled. They don't offer filtered tap water except at their excellent breakfast buffett. One thing I didn't know was the bottled water in the room is free and the will give you new ones each day.
overall my stay was great. Only complaints:
- everytime I went to view the 5pm daily movie it was never playing. I went a couple days annd at various times starting at 5 and the theater was empty.
- I informed pre-arrival it was my anniversary trip, they acknowledged via email but nothing was done for us.
I booked my own Machu Picchu tour I didn't use their tour desk but they did provide my a ride to perurail train station for $70 roundtrip (40 min each way)

Room Tip: Rooms on lower level walk out to the manicured lawn. Like having your own backyard.

This hotel was one of the most fantastic places we have stayed, we had the most beautiful view of the mountains from our room. The rooms were very well appointed, the shower room/jet bathtub was awesome. The grounds were simply magical, the parakeets were a lot of fun, one of them would say "Hola" and another would let us feed it grapes. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, the bar staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, we learned all about the history of Pisco Sours!

If you like the hustle and bustle of city life, this is not the place to stay as it is in the middle of beautiful Sacred Valley where you can see all the beautiful stars at night!

The only Con for us was the prices of the SPA, the SPA was grand but more than I cared to spend.

Without a doubt, the best hotel of our trip. Gorgeous, luxurious rooms and a lovely spa. Service to match. We almost left a charger behind but it was spotted. Breakfast had a seemingly endless choice and lunch was substantial and well [presented. Spa treatments were excellent. We watched a wedding in the beautiful little chapel. Gorgeous views of the mountains as well

My wife and I spent one night at Aranwa on our way to Machu Pichu (we caught the train to Agua Caliente from the nearby town of Olyantaytambo).
We loved it the moment we entred the hotel gate..
A backdrop of mountains reflecting the setting sun, with the Urubamba River flowing right through the property created a truly magical, picture-perfect setting.
The room was large, spacious and extremely comfortable. There was even a jacuzzi in the bathroom !

We enjoyed walking by the river.
My wife had a spa (which she rated - very good)

Our only regret was that we had to leave immediately after breakfast the next morning to catch the train to Machu Pichu.

We would have loved to have spent another day (or two), at this wonderful
resort, far from the madding crowd.

We stayed at the Aranwa Hotel for three nights and it was wonderfu. The gounds of the hotel are absolutely amazing and the entire experience was incredible. We were there to see the Sacred Valley and to go to Machu Picchu. I suffered a bit from altitude sickness so we were light eaters but found that we were able to go to the bar and eat upstairs using either their main dining room menu or the cafe menu. Both were excellent. The food, the wait staff and the quality of the service were impeccable. The breakfast buffet each morning was wonderful. The views from the hotel grounds are incredible. It is a bit remote but we had arranged transportation so for us it was not a problem. We would love to return and hopefully someday we will.

Sept 16

Absolutely 5 star.
Probably the most luxurious resort I have ever stayed in. Spa services were available. Indoor and outdoor pools with Jacuzzis. The resort was an oasis. On site gift shops, with beautiful grounds, bar, and restaurants. The bath room even had an electric towel heater.
Reasonably priced restaurant for dinner. In the morning it opened for breakfast at 5 am.
The whole resort was nothing short of spectacular. I wish I had another day to unwind and relax.
