staff at check-in is not very friendly. We asked if we could have a king room instead of 2 double queen and their response was "No cause all the rooms were filled ??" Strange because during the diner from 7pm to 10pm I count approximately 10 tables.

The hotel is huge so I didn't understand.

We decided to relax two nights there but spend a whole day at the hotel is too boring. Spa is overpriced.

Cocktails are as expensive as in NYC !!!

Rooms are nice anyway and the place is also nice.

The tours were well set up.

We arrived here from the Aranwa Cusco and our great experience was not only continued but enhanced. The property is absolutely gorgeous, serene and a total seclusion to get away from all. Ida is the manger there, she welcomed us immediately and took us to our beautiful 2 story suite. The SPA facility is one of the best, I have ever visited, 28000 sq. ft of luxury and comfort. The food is excellent and they are there to please. The only wish I had was we had stayed a there at least 4 or 5 days. The only negative part of the Arnawa is that the check out time is 9 am as most people who go to these hotels are travelers with scheduled itineraries to go on excursions, but they are accommodating if you need a late check out.The property has its own Cinema as well.

Room Tip: for a gorgeous luxury 2 bdrm suite as for #302

Arriving in Sacred Valley after a long road trip from Cusco, we found a wonderful delightful oasis on the valley floor surrounded by high Andean mountains in the small rural village of Uruamba. Several separate buildings of modern architecture reflecting historic peruvian style dwellings were situated in exotic gardens full of beautiful flowering shrubs and plants. A small creek ran through traversed by a 'rustic' bridge. There was an irregular-shaped swimming pool, a church where local weddings can be held, a large airy modern restuarant that provided a wide range of cuisines, a wellness spa and massage centre, gift shops and art gallery. The bedroom was ultra modern in style and fittings, large and roomy and the king-sized bed was very comfortable. The staff were very courteous and willing to respond to any need. Our visit was only for 3 days and we would have enjoyed a longer stay. This place is highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms are in garden settings so any one would suit.

The hotel was booked by the tour agent so we did not research it before arrival. Everyone in our tour group of 24 pax had positive comments - rooms are big with high ceiling and modern facilities. The breakfast spread is more than sufficient to make up for the poor position of the TV in the room - it was wall-mounted so high up that you can only watch TV while lying on the bed. If you are sitting up or on the sofa, you would have to crane your neck upwards to watch TV.

In the morning, some of the guests were overheard describing the various types of insects that managed to get into their rooms - spiders and flies or mosquitoes. Strangely, our room did not have a single insect.

Dinner was like fine dining and food standard was high. Home-made ice-cream dessert tasted like Haagen Dazs.

The surrounding mountains tempt city-dwellers like us to uproot and relocate here.

My husband and I spent two nights here on our journey through Peru. We were delighted with the setting, the quality of the dining (including a lovely trout luncheon upstairs in the bar with fantastic views), and the level of service. We were greeted very warmly, and the service we received during our 2-night stay was perfect. The location is a bit remote, but you can still access neighboring sites easily. We spent some time in the delightful town of Ollantaytambo, and then we ventured a bit further to the village of Huilloc. Huilloc was absolutely amazing, and I encourage anyone who stays in the Urubamba Valley to take a day trip to Huilloc from the hotel. It will be an experience that you will never forget! And basing yourself in the Aranwa will make sure you're happy and comfortable at the end of the day.
